Promo they are running during this twin peaks marathon is dogshit. Think this show is going to get bad fast. Not that it was ever that great.

Damien Lewis is a good actor, but he definitely loses quality in his American accent the more energy he puts into his voice. If he's supposed to be angry, he sounds borderline ridiculous.

I like that they so blatantly addressed how, on the surface anyway, Wendy seems so far out of Chuck's league.

Agree with that. First three episodes were a bit rough, but there's definitely more focus in the last two.

I thought there was another thread on this too, but backreading this one sounded familiar, so I dunno.

We're only halfway through S2, so a few episodes behind. Still enjoy this show, I think it's gotten better this season.

Damn. They had me fooled. Have to figure Wendy's role in the short will have an effect on Chuck's masterplan. Unless Chuck had her in on it, too. Doubtful.

but so, Chuck's master plan worked in that he got Axe to engage in illegal activity and has proof of it, but Chuck had to wind up losing all of his own money at the same time, right? well, at least at first I guess he knew he was going to lose a certain amount of it (what he himself put in) and he was okay with that trade off, if it nailed Axe, but obviously he didn't expect his dad to bet on the entire trust.

Yeah.. he was expecting to lose the 7 mil or whatever it was. Wonder how much Wendy banked. Bobby wasn't too thrilled to hear about it.

Really enjoyed the season finale. The show really excelled over the last three episodes or so. Hope the streak runs right into Season 3.

This show is cheesy as hell. After 2 seasons not a single character worth rooting for. Breaking Bad mustache guy is so bad in that role, such a dumb character. Think I'm done with Showtime.

I really disagree with you. Showtime has a way of creating compelling characters on kinda shitty TV shows. Taylor might be among the best characters on television right now. Shameless is another perfect example. Show is terrible but Mickey and Ian were awesome. Lip is awesome.

    Re: Billions - Showtime Series

Taylor is not compelling and neither is any other character on this show. Taylor is an emotionless robot that inspires nothing. Taylor and BB mustache guy are perfect examples of them trying way too hard to offer characters that are different for the sake of being different. Both are annoyingly unrealistic.
I would argue that character development is where Showtime shows really lack. The characters are hard to root for. Shameless is terrible. The idea of a family of assholes is good for only so much. Stopped watching years ago.
Homeland is good but Carrie is downright unwatchable half the time, and unlikeable most of the time. I think Saul is the only person I like on Showtime.

The shows just fall short of greatness on Showtime. Very watchable, but they get old fast.

I'm not disagreeing with you about the shows themselves. They're all terrible, awful, watch on Monday shows. But I do feel that Showtime has a very good history of creating specific characters on the shows that stand out. You may not agree but I'm certainly not wrong. Other than the two I mentioned (both of which have received universal acclaim for their portrayal of their characters) here's a bunch more

Dexter - Fucking Dexter. But also the Trinity Killer.
    Californication - Charlie Runkle
Weeds - Both Andy and Doug
    Nurse Jackie - Zoey
