Anger management was annoying to me

And Spanglish was a serious movie that I thought was supposed to be funny

    I love Happy Gilmore

I like Waterboy, Wedding Singer and Big Daddy

Parts of Billy Madison have aged better than others

Everything else Sandler has done with the Happy Madison brand (so not Punch Drunk Love etc) is garbage

    Logan

Amazing, although it made me really sad.

X-Men is really the only comic franchise that I enjoy and watching this last chapter sucked. It was totally fucking badass though.

Is Logan available to rent or do I have to buy it? I want to have something to watch tonight and I'm not relying on the Celtics v. Cavs.

It's on iTunes. No clue about amazon, Netflix etc.

Going to try to see Alien before lunch. Eternal optimist for that franchise.

well it's out on blu-ray, which means it must be available on like the usual on demand services with cable or satellite. The home video release of a physical disc always comes after the on demand phase (I believe is first of all them)

and I'm kinda shocked about Alien: Covenant. It's entire opening weekend total they're looking at about $36. That's got to be considered a fairly sizable bomb, I figured it would AT LEAST be $60-70M. hell we're pretty much in the summer movie season and it's a new Alien movie. Not saying that automatically makes it a good movie, but didn't think it would make that little money.

Logan comes out on BR on Tuesday.

It looks like I can purchase it through Amazon on my laptop but not through my TV. Odd.

oh shit my bad, I'd totally thought it had already come out. I guess I was mixing up the "coming next week" messages with the "it's out and here this week!" ones. But at any rate I'd say it's definitely worth just the straight up purchase, especially with how you get the black & white "Logan:Noir" version included (and I'm not just saying that, that's what they've called it). I can't imagine it won't end up in my top 10 movies of the year.

I was reading about it yesterday whilst watching and evidently there was supposed to be a different, very intense and heart wrenching, opening scene.

They actually screened Loagan: Noir at Alamo for one night.

shit that's right, I remember reading how they were going to put it in theaters (think it was in a few cities) just for that one single night here on the verge of when it came out on blu-ray.

and bridge, I've never actually used any of those on demand services myself, but I think it'd have to be on at least some of them already, now we know the disc is out on Tuesday. As far as the order in which movies always go for public release, I'm pretty sure the on demand/streaming is first up. But yea it is a really friggin good movie. I do think ultimately they leaned into the "fuck" allowance a little too heavily, just that it borders on kinda silly how they employee it because they can now, not cause I'm offended by profanity or anything.

yea I saw very briefly about this on another site earlier, and I feel like it makes it just all the more frustrating with him. Because he obviously CAN do something meaningful and dare I even say profound maybe, if he decides the next movie he wants to devote all his time in making isn't the epitome of lowest common denominator "comedy".

Not surprised. Saw the 11:15 showing today. 11 (including four of us) people in the theater when the opening rolled. At least fifty people in line when we bought our tickets for obviously other films.

I will say it was better than I expected and that Fassbender is pretty great as usual. I also like the heroine lead although I don't think she had much to work with in this one and Danny McBride was surprisingly not irritating. It was pretty in an Alien way and I'm glad I saw it on the big screen instead of a TV.

Alien : Covenant. Enjoyed it much more than Prometheus, but still nowhere near Alien/Aliens level. Ending had me scratching my head a bit and had me wanting more. Probably give it an 7.5/10.

Watched Suicide Squad for the second time. It's so bad. I can't believe I rated it so high the first time around. I wanted to turn it off multiple times. Leto's Joker is so weak.
