Don't think they'd be as popular. They're the musical equivalent of the Bloodhound Gang. On occasion people would listen, but most would stop caring about them.

    love sublime. 40 oz and S/T are fucking classics. i dont know how anyone can not like this band, they had a little something for everyone. silly lyrics for the most part but still clever with what they did.

    Ten years later:

    This is a nonsense take. Nirvana was arguably the biggest band in the world before Kurt died. Nevermind changed music forever, and In Utero was an even better album in many regards. I don’t know that there’s a truly bad song in their entire catalog.
