Just because you have differing views does not make someone (or anyone) a moron. This nation was literally founded on the fact that people wanted a place they could have differing opinions without being sent to the chopping block.

I don't fall in line with Dave's political views often but I don't think he's any less intelligent because of it. I do wish he'd stick to the music more but at least he's no Eddie Vedder.

My guess is once Pearl Jam is in the hall of fame Vedder will become Bono style annoying.,not that he's that far off now.

I'm not going to call anyone a moron, but singing politically motivated songs at a concert is way different than spending a lot of time between songs delivering a political monologue. You know what you're getting (and getting what you paid for) when the message is coming through song.

Performers can absolutely do it, but I'm also of the opinion that it's annoying. Dave has never really done it to any sort of noticeable degree in the past. Vedder does it all the time, which, again, is annoying - whether you agree with him or not. I'd rather escape all that bullshit at a concert. Vedder has kicked people out of the concert for telling him to shut up and sing.

I'm with you. It's one thing if it's a song but I'm at a concert and don't want to hear that when I'm trying to enjoy myself. Vedder is an annoying asshole when it comes to that.

That was my problem with seeing U2. Bono in-between every song had a 5 minute monologue about social issues and other crap. It doesn't take away the fact that U2 was one of the best shows I have seen, but it was rather annoying. Just play Where The Streets Have No Name and leave out the monologue.

There is an interesting article about Bob Seger and how his music is hard to find these days on streaming music. It seems that Seger's back catalog isn't his favorite stuff and he doesn't want it out there.

This got me thinking about DMB and how they have so many "b sides" or unreleased soundcheck songs that the fans love or would love to hear. It also reminded me of the Dave quote about The Lillywhite Sessions and Busted Stuff and how it was like walking into a gallery and seeing your piece or art hanging and it wasn't done yet.

I tend to think that they band has all of these songs that we would love to hear but they either don't like them or they aren't good enough in their minds to release.

At what point does the band need to give into the fans thirst for more music and release these songs. Will they ever see the light of day?

Holy shit...took the words out of my mouth. What's up with him apologizing to the Germans for the American citizens voting in our current President?
