Cheap Flights

I'm sure there are plenty of people here who have had to book a flight or two in their time.

In your experience, where is the best place to find a flight deal?

People always sing the praises of expedia, orbitz, travelocity, etc., but I've found that going straight to the airline website saves a few bucks more. Is there anything else I'm missing that could cheapen the cost for me?

Private airlines always have great deals, you just have a harder time finding what you want.

So, yesterday Dwight found half a joint in the parking lot. Which is unfortunate, because it turns out that Dwight finding drugs is more dangerous than most people using drugs.

cheaptickets.com hooked me up for the 'Palooza
i also noticed if you expand your airport search to 80 miles it gets way cheaper... i just didn't care to fly in to Baltimore to save $88
if you'll remember too, i saved a cool $100 by staying til Tuesday

Give me your city pairs and dates and I'll see what I can find. The company I work for owns Orbitz and Cheaptickets. I can't promise much - but I can agree with the recommendation of Southwest, even though we don't sell them. When the company screws up and has to pay for a new airline ticket, you can guess where we book to save the money.

    ORD to SEA
    August 18- August 22
Noon/Afternoon departures are preferred. I have a quote of $321.40 for those dates, leaving O'Hare at about 12:30p-ish an leaving Seattle at about 3pm-ish. Those are ideal times for me.
Southwest only flies out of Midway, and since I live less than 10 mins from O'Hare, I hate to use anything else.

    Thanks!

Strangely enough, Midway isn't usually much cheaper than O'Hare.

PM me if you're interested. This is a private fare, which means it's the product of a corporate relationship between my company and American Airlines. Most times, these fares are very restrictive and may not allow changes.

Mmm, a smoke sounds good. I may have to join you.

I noticed your location: I love Nashville! Some of my family moved down there a while ago, and it's always great to visit.

Eh, it's alright. Every single major highway coming in or out of Nashville is under some kind of construction. The weather is hot and mostly unpredictable. It has its merits, but I usually don't take advantage of them.

I did purchase a 2001 Blazer at a dealership downtown recently for a DAMN good price though.

Don't bitch to me about too much construction and random weather...I LIVE IN CHICAGO.

Very nice choice on the truck by the way. I am a Blazer gal myself.
    '94 though.

    Nuff said.

The blazer was a stroke of luck - it's a 2001, Black, leather gray interior, LOADED (the guy that ordered it in 2001 got everything but the six-CD changer). Onstar, CD, AM/FM, tape, power seats, cruise, "climate-control computer." Only 63,000 miles. It could have sold for $13000-14000 easily, but I got it for $10988. Web special. You should look into it if you need to upgrade.

    Awesome deal!
I'm in desperate need of an upgrade, but I need a downpayment first; I haven't decided on whether I want the TrailBlazer (probably 7 seater) or the Tahoe.

I would be all over the Tahoe, but I don't need a V8 or it's gas costs...

The Trailblazer is cool, but I just don't like the way they look. Too curvy.

I love how both of those trucks look. I really just want a car that will be comfortable for all of my passengers.

I am, and it's my first time...just the experience of planning it has been wonderful, so I can't imagine what the weekend will have in store!

I got your IM, thanks so much for the info. Let's keep in touch and try to cross paths that weekend.
