7.16.2000 - What a show.

I like to hit 'random concert' on DMB Stream and play without looking at the set.

This came up this morning:
http://www.antsmarching.org/tour/Vie...hp?ShowID=1907

Damn, makes me wish I was actually a fan when I was in college.

Didn't know BOWA could be so good.

And it poured and poured all day--it seemed like it might be canceled. Then, just as the concert started, the rain stopped and it was a great night.

7.16.00 was a fantastic show, and more than made up for an awful night one (which looks great on paper, but wasn't at all).

    Re: 7.16.2000 - What a show.

Things I love about this video (in no particular order):

Boyd playing like Boyd used to play, the center of attention. Tim and Jeff have certainly slowed that down.
Simple stage and lighting. God I miss the old days. I remember not loving this tour as the crowds were weak (EVERYONE loved the band in 2000) but good God I'd give my right arm for this show again.
No Everyday, Stand Up or Big Whiskey.
Post '98 to get the BTCS songs.
Butch there but in a very small capacity. Same for the ladies who were on too many songs after a while.
    The Chet!!!
and last but not least, Mr. Leroi Moore. Man is he missed.....

Yeah! We had a slip n slide going on the plastic on the back of the stadium floor. What an awesome night. I have so many stories from that weekend.

My first show. I was a pretty big fan going in, but after the final note of rapunzel I became obsessed. They rocked that song so hard in 2000. Roi flat out destroyed it

I really liked the acoustic intro Dave and Tim were doing early summer 2008.

It's freaking awesome how they just let the songs come through them in this show instead of trying to rock them out as hard as possible. I wish they slowed down like this now a days and let the music just flow out that way.

You can say that again! Imagine if that show were played today, the amount of times the word "epic" would be thrown around would cause the implosion of these boards.

i didnt go to N1 that year, but i have the tape and you'd never know it was rough by listening.

my cousin did go and said it was pretty weak. its a wonderful listen at home though. the LWS were top notch that weekend in philly.

I was there. I don't remember it being a bad show. I was with good friends that I hadn't seen in a while, though. Maybe I was just having too good of a time to care.

I liked that, too. Though it wouldn't work very well for a show opener.

N1 was a very "going through the motions" type show. No spark from the band and tired, predictable and safe playing. N2 was a completely different story.
