    Thanks!
you could try for hotels in ellensburg or moses lake. most might be booked already...

hard to say which of the 3 shows you should pick. saturday usually sells out, and i would consider that night the casual fan audience...sunday is usually my favorite. but man...i don't think i would ever be able to only pick coming for one night...

I would look toward Ellensberg. Moses Lake is in the wrong direction if you are going back to Seattle in the morning.

Yeah, Ellensburg is really your only 'big' spot on I-90 between Seattle and the Gorge. The only other suggestion I would have is Wenatchee or Leavenworth, which is on the way if you take Hwy-2. You might avoid a lot of the holiday traffic if you take that route as well.

    Aug 28th - JFK to San Fran - Virgin Atlantic - $150

Sep 4th - Seattle to JFK (red eye) - Jet Blue - Around $250.

We booked them through the airlines' websites. The flights weren't cheaper via priceline, kayak, etc.

Cle Elum is about 25 miles farther West of Ellensburg on the I-90 route and you may find some rooms there if E'burg is full. My only comment is that Hwy-2 is a one lane road compared to I-90's two or three lanes.

True, it is definitely a smaller road and something to consider. You can also jump on 97 from 90 at Cle Elum; I drove that way to Wenatchee almost every weekend for a summer and would encounter minimal (mostly zero) traffic - and no law enforcement but from Cle Elum through the pass (Snoqualmie) is usually where you get backed up with traffic and that wasn't even on holiday weekends

    Hello!!! Check it out!

Google maps and Google Earth's current satellite photo for the Gorge is from 9/2/2011 - when DMB was there. You can see all the gorge campers, the Wildhorse campground to the southeast... way cool. I see TOUPSTOWN!

    http://maps.google.com/?ll=47.099928...48623&t=h&z=15

Opening it in Google Earth shows the date as 9/2/2011.
