Yeah I'm fine. It's the husband. He has lots of problems (spinal cord injury) and today it's gastro-intestinal. Hooray.

there's really no one on the lineup worth the cost this year, and it's not even that expensive. i do like neko case...but yeah, not worth it. totally saving that money for dave.

I come out from Pittsburgh, and it costs me about $1,500 per person. This includes pavilion tickets, airfare, staying at the Red Roof Inn Wednesday and Monday night, Wildhorse camping, the Toupstown Bus, and an allocation for liquor, meals at the campground and beverages at the venue. You need to add a little more for car rental. We rented a car the first year and it ran us about $450 I want to say it was for the week. You could go cheaper, but we needed something big enough to haul three people and our stuff...

i feel like a bad fan for not watching setlists or downloading shows...it kind of takes a little of the fun and excitement out of the shows i DO get to attend tho, so i'm not going to start now. i've browsed some sets, but...yeah, that's all i'm really gunna do. i am tired of getting wrapped up in the hype. call me a poop. i don't care.

Ditto. I found that not watching/checking set-lists allows for little-to-no expectations thus making the concert experience that much better and more enjoyable.

Did it last year for the Caravan(s).

    IMHO of course

You are right there. I never go into a show expecting to hear anything based off past sets. There are things I'd like to hear, but I'm there for the live experience. Like I see posted around here occasionally, sets list don't mean anything. It is all about experiencing the magic that musicians create at each performance.

it's the same reason i stopped playing the setlist game a couple years ago...i would find myself at the show going "damnit! i should have moved that song up one" or something equally lame. i could honestly give two shits what they play, i just wanna hear my boys rock out and have a good time. of course there's songs i would love to check off the ole bucket list...but if i don't get to, i'm not going to cry about it, i saw many many many awesome shows, and thankfully i am able to pull up a live version of the song i want to hear and listen any time i want. not many band-fans have that option.

I can't wait until tomorrow night. Sounds totally horrible, but 2 days away from my husband is going to be bliss.

my boots aren't "new" but they were last year, so they've been on a few hikes (including a week long trek through the Olympics), i consider them broken in...they are super super comfy (keens) but...yeah, my toes always get bruised (and its always the toenail that feels the most bruised...it's even visible). i try and remember to clip the ole nails before we head out...but it doesn't seem to help. the socks i wear are super super cushy and thick too, so i don't know wth is going on. maybe they are too wide or something? allowing my toes to slam against the front? i know they aren't too small...i got help at REI fitting them.

oh yeah...the slippery rocks are NOT my friends.

I'm thinking of taking the trip from Denver to the Gorge this year and we're thinking about camping at the official gorge campgrounds. Whats the deal at this place and is there anywhere better to stay?

So I left my house at 7:20am this morning to drive to the State Capitol for a vendor seminar. In the pouring rain. Gee, that was fun. (I am NOT a morning person. I usually get into the office everyday at 9:30.) On top of that, I have a 6pm wedding appointment at my office so I won't be able to leave for home until 7 or later. Sigh. I could really use some Gorge sunshine today.

I usually get bruised toes/nails when I hike too. I read somewhere that it is supposed to be caused by too much toe room in your shoe/boot, but I've tried multiple pairs of shoes and get the same result every time I hike more than 10 miles.

depends on what your type of fun is. the campground is known to be a non-stop party, if you can snag a pass to the premier section, you'll be guaranteed a little more sleep. it's a fantastic experience either way really, i recommend it over hoteling it-unless you just can't stand camping. getting to know your neighbors, making the walk down the dusty gravel road to the venue with 20k other people, waking up to views of the gorge as the sun rises...nothing beats it for me. there's also another campground down the road called Wildhorse, been sold out for months, but passes do come up for sale. it's got a shuttle to take you to the venue, a cafe, nicer grass, and it's smaller. check this site for more info: www.toupstown.com

hmmm. i am not inclined to keep dropping 100+ bucks on pairs of shoes if i am going to keep having the same issue. guess i'll just plan a week in flip flops after each major trek.
