No tour is good for DMB to skyrocket in 2018

They need this.

People are getting antsy. Speculation building. Band members tweeting. They have a shot at really coming back and getting back on the map in 2018.

They are already a well-known band, aren't they?

Noone is antsy outside of hardcore fans.

Stefan is being stefan. Nothing is different except maybe Stefan has an itch to be on the road. Which, again, is probably nothing because I dont think the year off was something he wanted to do.

If they took off a couple of years, then I think people would get antsy and they've have this awesome sold out tour, etc...but not after 1 year.

What do you mean by "getting back on the map"?

Hit Singles? Bringing in new fans? Selling out shows? Not having "mediocre" touring numbers?

I think Dave mentioned his one aim in life was to support the Jonas bros - I guess that's the benchmark

Not sure where this link best fits, but sort of interesting. I'm making the blanket assumption that DMB in Alpine 2018 is a done deal

I didn't really gather anything from that article that would lead me to assume they'll be back next year. (But I'm assuming they will be)

I last saw the band in the summer of 2016, so the band taking a year off is like two years since it will be summer of 2018 when they come around again. just sayin

Current D&T just isnt super exciting to me. I mean, im happy they are doing a US tour, but unless they dig deep during this year my opinion wont change.

Not saying DMB is any better, im just curious what has you so excited about D&T this year. Full band shows are at least a more fun day.

    I love acoustic music

Also means no annoying trumpet, Dave screaming during every song or lack of Roi making so many songs less than stellar

Yeah, D&T means Tim on acoustic and no Rashawn. Win-win all around.

Wasn't the official announcement of the break joined by a statement that there would be a tour in 2018? In which case, we probably should expect it...

I want DMB to be back in 2018 but as long as DM tours in some capacity I'll show up.

While overhyped, the D&T setlists so far this year are notably better than the majority of what DMB has put out for the last few years.

They have been better. But still nothing eye popping. Hopefully that changes with how many shows theyre playing. For me, as of now, its not a must see thing. I plan to go to MPP but I wont be devastated if I didnt, unless I see some more exciting stuff.

Management can say one thing in 2016 and it can still turn out to be inaccurate by the time 2018 rolls by. There is no guarantee that DMB comes back in 2018, none.

Maybe Dave looked back at the setlist variety the last few years and said what the hell am i doing. Then said he wanted a year off.....wishful thinking...2013 Tour they brought some rarer stuff back and seemed excited. Then 2 Sets came and everything went downhill.

2013 was the most creative the band has been in a long time... June 2013 was just fantastic
