I'm in the minority here, I *love* seeing shows at Northerly during the summer. Especially when the lawn is not open. That makes all the difference in the world as far as congestion coming and going. We always just park in the south loop and walk over. As long as the weather is good, it's great for a summer night on the lakefront.
For D&T though yeah, terrible choice, especially with the lawn open. I wouldn't mind it with the lawn closed (capacity then is about 8,000.)
One nice thing when the lawn is open is that at least they keep the lawn and the people on it entirely separated from the people in reserved. Different entrance, merch, vending, bathrooms, etc. And people on the lawn have no access to any of the reserved areas. It doesn't help with traffic and stuff coming and going but, makes it easier to maneuver during the show at least.
