I hated Hunger the first couple of years but have come around on it. A couple of my shows in 2007 it surprised me because I actually thought it was pretty kick ass. Somehow I went from hating it to really liking it. It sounds great on LT 10.

But better than Last Stop?? Shit, that's a little much.

Where, oh where, was the poll for this?

I don't mind Hunger now but I was pretty sick of it from '05-'07. I don't think it is greater than the LS, though......

Hunger was a fast paced song. The way it was written was just pathetic though and the final product suffered. Its among the worst saves written lyrically.

Hunger came on random on my itunes library the other day. Realized how little I missed this tune. Some energy, yes, but so glad it's dropped off of the radar. And without Butch, would be hard to pull this one off I think.

even though hunger is not as great as the last stop, it is a perfect segue into the last stop though, it builds up the energy perfectly

how is hunger the "perfect" segue that builds up the energy? hunger is high energy from the get-go. there is no building up. if thats what you're going for, then something like Spoon (especially cville's version) would be the better songs for building up energy to the explosion of Last Stop.

Energy, fine, but it's not a good song. Wish it was. The music is fun, yes, but the lyrics detract a good bit from it.

Hunger is a frustrating song because I can hear a really good song in there somewhere but they didn't quite get it right.

For me it's the intro that kills the song more than anything else. I want to jam nails into my eyes when I hear "Oh...greaaaaat....light.....of lovvvvvve". The way he sings it is awful. But once the band joins in I think there's some good shit happening, especially the "god damn you're a pretty thing" outro.

I think LT 10 is the best this song can sound.

The Last Stop is in my top 10-20. HFTGL is in my bottom 20-30. Polar opposites.

That's a pretty big window. I doubt if there's anyone who puts Hunger out of their bottom 20-30. The majority probably say bottom 5 or at least bottom 10.

I don't think I have anything more than a bottom 10. Once you get out of that range you really can't go wrong.

On a scale of about 130 songs, bottom 25 give or take is BAD.

I haven't listened to Hunger in about 2 years.

I haven't listened to Last Stop in about 2 hours.

I think the OP and I have fundamental differences in our definition of good music. Not claiming one is right, but they're definitely different.

It's interesting. I haven't thought about it that way but off the top of my head I can't think of 25 bad songs out of the songs that would appear on the studio albums and every Live Trax. I'm struggling to come up with 10 songs I would consider BAD songs.

    Disagree with the bold.

And D&T smooth rider isn't bad. Not good, but not bad.

I'll give you Wake Up, Stand Up, Dreamgirl, and American Baby ithout a question. They're automatic bottom garbage for me. But no way are #27, Corn Bread, or SMLAM bad songs. I get why people are burnt out on Cornbread and SMLAM but that doesn't make them bad songs. No idea how someone can't like #27 and Cornbread.

Alligator Pie is killer on D&T Vegas so I have to take it off the BAD list. Cool lyrics too.

I might have given you Smooth Rider but the Fenway version saves it. Just listened to it the other day for the first time in years and couldn't believe how great it sounded. Dave goes off at the end.
