Re: Best DMB Era

i voted 98-01, although 01 feels like a different era to me (98-00 is my favorite 3 year span for sure).

Although not my favorite, I feel like the band was onto something in June of 08 with Tim back in the mix, but with Leroi still around. I wonder what that band would sound like today.

whenever the LWS/BS songs leaked and started making appearances in sets. would of been such an exciting time.

1998-2001 without a doubt, though I'd rather leave 2001 and the Everyday tunes out of it. Band got a lot tighter as the years went on and yet their sound was still pretty raw. As the 2000s went on, Butch and the Ladies got too heavy-handed and then when Tim came back, he also became too overpowering.

I will say I found Tim in 1998 to be a different kind of annoying though. His soloing and general tone was just so abrasive and oftentimes obnoxious. The last thing I want to hear in a DMB context is Tim and his sloppy "speed killzzzzz" shred riffs splooging all over otherwise excellent music. Way too much of a cringe factor for my taste.

It was exciting on one level, but then there were all the Everyday songs as well. There was a lot of shit that went along with the good.

    Oh wow, Big Eyed Fish!

    Oh shit, I Did It...

2001 was a weird, weird year.

With only 10 options for a poll, I tried to split this up as best I could. Any members/long term guests who are outside of the core (Dave, Roi, Carter, Boyd, Stefan) I put in parenthesis.

But these options were the best I could come up with.
Some of your lineups are off. Butch never toured with the band in the 2000s once Tim was back. And as mentioned, Tim was with the band in 1998.

They probably are. I used the guest page on Alamanc to give dates, again - did the best I could. I know it isn't perfect.

Anyone else need to point this out?

Drugs? It's a given that most fans have been stoned at concerts.

I was talking, you know, being Stoned.

I love being Stoned. Especially getting Stoned the first song of the night.

Can't Help Falling In Love is our wedding song, so it was really fitting that both our first time getting Stoned happened at our first Gorge last year. Crowd didn't disappoint singing for us (read: not us).

2nd time was at D&T Oakland. Crowd hit us good there too.

    Love getting Stoned

I think the closest I've been is ending up in the cloud of smoke of people doing it around me at a show.
