I don't even enjoy watching the episodes because nothing builds or happens. Last week's show was probably the best and it was past info. It's bad. I know it is because I don't care if I see it live.

    This show has a lot of flaws, but S1E9 was really fucking great after spending 8 episodes with these characters post-Departure.

    The top post on the reddit discussion thread made the point that the Departure freed the Leftovers from what what was burdening them, whether they wanted it to be that extreme or not, and I think it's a good point.

    The best thing this show has done in it's first season is show the decay into apparent insanity of Garvey. In E9 he apparently sees/has a vision of the deer before it starts running into buildings, and we all see where it eventually led to - capturing Cathy and thus prompting everything that happened in E8. There are still a lot of things this show has gotten wrong, but it's gotten a lot of things right. And I'm very excited for the finale.

    Just watched last Sunday's episode this morning.

    Really liked it. Definitely interesting to see what everyone was up to pre-departure. It'll be interesting to see if tonight's finale shows how things collapsed around the Garvey family.

    A big part of me wishes they did more episodes that focus on one character. I still think the priest episode was one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in a while. The rest have been meh with moments of awesome. Still think the season finale will make/break the season.

    I kind of thought the episode was going to go somewhere when he got put in the loony bin and started reading the National Geographic, but that evolved into nothing. I just don't get how you can end a season like that.
