Wife and daughter wanted to play MK8 and Splatoon 2 so I went ahead and pulled the trigger today since it was in stock and Splatoon 2 comes out soon.

For those who have it - other than what's in the box, what else do I need?

Are the two controllers easy to game with or should I buy a pro controller?

Is the separate Joy Con charging thing necessary?

If Nintendo doesn't start making more switch's I'm just gonna spend my money on the new Xbox instead. My boy has waited this long, he can wait until Christmas.

Got Zelda yesterday. I haven't played a Zelda since Ocarina on 64. This game is beautiful, and addicting.

If my Zelda save was on a cloud and would transfer to the switch I'd probably trade in my 3ds and Wii U for a switch right now. Really wish Nintendo would get out of the 90s online wise.

probably won't buy the switch at all at this point. they've lost their sizzle. it was a shitty box to begin with.

i'm a playstation guy for serious games. but looks like i'm gonna buy my first xbox since the original 20 years ago for christmas, i think.

Zelda is an amazing game but fuck playing through it again. I might never finish my first play through. I'm probably out on a switch too. Would be buying it just for Mario. Seems silly.

Opened up Splatoon 2 to play some multiplayer today and....it doesn't have multiplayer.

To play multiplayer I have to buy another Switch. Wow. I wish I had researched this before I bought it - that was the whole reason I got it, because my kid likes the multiplayer in the original one

What is it with gaming companies assuming that players don't have any friends or family in the real world that would want to play with them? They seem to only assume that players only have friends over the internet. My best experiences of playing video games was having a bunch of friends over at my house playing multiplayer Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Timesplitters, etc. And those were the days with small TV's! TV's are bigger than ever now and should be able to easily accommodate split screen.

I'm guessing splatoon 2 split screen is not there because of performance issues. It's a lot more demanding than Mario kart to run.

A big part of my freshman year of college was Goldeneye in dorm rooms. That seems to be a lost art these days.
