I think Mangold's first go with the character, The Wolverine from back in 2013 I think was fairly solid. Not as good as X2 or DOFP, but vastly superior to both Origins and X3. and it had a neat little post-credits scene that led into DOFP.

The person suppose to be his caregiver stood up turned around and shouted to the other movie goers " look my little n****** is scared" and laughed. It almost seemed as if I was witnessing a contest to see who can screw their kids up more in a two hour period. It actually became worse and ended up leaving.
Aliens covenant was good, but I really think they should have made a point to tell people it's really a prometheus sequel and not really an alien movie per se. I went with two people that hadn't seen the first and tried to explain it cause they were lost.
What you described sounds like borderline child abuse. I do actually remember watching the original Friday the 13th when I was like 6. Some older kids next door were watching it and I was there for some reason. A little different than when it's an adult paying money to bring a child to a theater.

I remember seeing a preview for Baby Driver a long time ago and REALLY wanting to see it, then completely forgot about it until seeing the RT score today. 99%!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

this news about THE ACCOUNTANT getting a sequel really seems kind of odd. It's like the last thing I would've expected to hear. I mean it's a great example of an adult action/drama that was pretty much fine for what it was, I think I said this right after watching it, it was right around just having been worth the time it took to watch it. Certainly nowhere near great. I realize the way the story ended technically it left a door open for more, but just a sequel happening to this movie of all things would've NEVER crossed my mind. and I think I heard it made less than $200M worldwide.

Get Out - Pretty good. Not sure why people were confused about what they watched. Seemed pretty straightforward to me.

Right. I'm not saying everyone has to like it. I was just commenting on the people who were like "wtf did I just watch" (and not necessarily here, mostly FB).

I could totally see a sequel to The Accountant if it goes down some path with the brother or something.

ugh, don't think that basic joke hadn't already gone thru my mind

I genuinely would not be at all surprised if they retroactively tried to pair it with something else.

well as to 2nd paragraph, yea strictly speaking I could as well, but then you're talking about basically making a retread movie of the first. gee, how compelling and interesting, can't WAIT to see that...

as to 1st paragraph, with GET OUT, yea I wasn't confused by it at all. I think I even used the "straight forward" phrase in my initial post after finally seeing it several weeks ago. I didn't really find it some groundbreaking incredible thing partly due to how straight forward it was.

    WONDER WOMAN

I liked it, definitely the only other DC movie that could possibly claim being the best so far is Man Of Steel. cause this was unquestionably better than BvS or Suicide Squad. I liked MOS more than most people (& I'm not even one of the known usual DC ball washers around here! ) but yea I'll have to have a bit more time away from WW to know if it should be 1 or 2.

but I have a question for the more comics-minded, info on one of the characters...

I went in with zero expectations. It had a few laugh out loud jokes. It was just a fun mindless movie, which is what I wanted.

Combination of both. I typically enjoy Foxx, just don't think he did a great job with a pretty obnoxious character. Tall order I suppose.

Foxx probably turned in the best performance in my mind, even if his character was despicable and completely one-note.

Numerically I'm right with your ranking though, which is disappointing given my expectations. Edgar Wright will always plant my ass in a theater seat, but even though I enjoyed the hell out of the movie, it lacked the emotional resonance I've come to expect with his work. I think it was the Collider review that noted Debora is more of a goal to Baby than a fully-fledged character of her own. I think that's pretty spot on. Even though you find yourself rooting for their relationship, that's more attributable to the script than any actual character development.

    And Kevin Spacey was awful.
