Really been playing I See a Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy a ton lately. I strongly suggest it to anybody who likes Ryan Adamsish stuff.

    Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

I think there are maybe 3 or 4 tracks here that really come across as filler....and just don't do much for me at all. But then there is a song so unspeakably gorgeous, like "The Plains / Bitter Dancer." This album is absolutely carried by 4 or 5 of these songs.

Panda Bear-Tomboy. It's really good, but its tought to get me in the mood for it right now, as I'm on much more of a rock n roll kick.

Joseph Anthony Camerlengo-NOISE TO THE WORLD ep. This guy is honestly one of the most talented songwriters I know of. And he's also fucking insane, but in an endearing way.

Van Morrison-Astral Weeks. I should just sig this, as I listen to it all the time these days.

Rolling Stones-s/t. I took a bunch of Stones from my dad's computer last night...any suggestions where to go from here?

Same for this. Look foward to both, since I'm going in blind

If you're new to them, I would skip the early stuff (much like you would with the Beatles.)

I'd start with Sticky Fingers or Beggars Banquet. The former is more of a hard-drug rock album, the latter is more acoustic/folk/country.

My personal favorite is Exile on Main St, but it's a double album and is sort of all over the place. This run of albums from '68-'72 is pretty much considered their best:

Beggars Banquet > Let It Bleed > Sticky Fingers > Exile on Main St.

    And to Astral Weeks dude

Awesome, thanks very much. Yeah Astral Weeks is my new Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I got that album around Christmas 08 and just listened for like 5 months straight. This one is pretty much the same thing.

Sticky Fingers is fucking awesome though. Some of their best songs are on it, and the lead guitar by Mick Taylor who had recently joined is great.

Cool, that's where I'll go next. Beggars Banquet was great, not at all the sound I'm familiar with from the Stones.

Pick up Separation Sunday, too. It goes back & forth for me as to which one is my favorite record by them - Separation Sunday or Boys & Girls...

    This.

    Stay Positive is close though.

Never could get into Almost Killed Me and Heaven Is Whenever save a few songs (DJ's, Swish, Killer, Soft, Weekenders, Hurricane).

I just hope they haven't peaked. Three five star albums is a hell of a peak though.
