Weird. You are right and so was the Security guy. .One Direction played a sold out show last night at Molson Amphitheatre and will be their again tomorrow night for a 2nd show.

If I remember correctly, in 2010 Jeff and Rashawn attended the jays game before the concert. Read that in the 2010 thread. Might want to keep an eye out for them. Rashawn wore either a jays hat or jersey for the show too.

I've heard of Stefan riding his bike along Lake Ontario and bumping into a bunch of fans in the mid-2000's. Don't remember where or what year, but he was raving about the bike path. Maybe check some old Toronto threads.

So true. It's not too bad if you go during the week, but forget it for weekends. However, they did just renovate and opened up a second floor. So I wonder if that will alleviate some of the crowds.

There's 2 Sticky Lips locations...one in the city and a new one in the suburbs (Henrietta) that is also a "juke joint" and has a lot of live music. I MUCH prefer the suburban one. It's huge inside, and the stage setup is really cool. There was an episode of Man Vs. Food taped at the original location in the city, check it out online or something if you get a chance.

I met Jeff walking down Younge the day before the show in 2010, and then RR walking through Yorkville later that day

Absolutely. Just about everything I've learned about ribs and pulled pork has been from Craig @ www.amazingribs.com

Incredible rub and sauce recipes and he made me realize my 4-burner gas grill can double as a mean smoker. I always get gushing compliments when I make ribs or pork for people. The sauce I most often make is the Tennessee Whiskey sauce, but it's pretty expensive when you use a $15 bottle of JD every time!

I guess it depends on what will be developed in place of Ontario Place. There have always been two other bars, if we want a drink after we go in we can always go to the AMEX bar which should be a quick entrance and is a huge bar so service is quick too...it's right around the corner from Sec 203 so it would be quick to get to and from the seats. Better than waiting in line at the kiosks. As far as I know the PROSHOT feed goes right there too, in case we want a drink during Jimi Thing.

Its being turned into a conservation area, I think.

Hey ants- trying to get a "official" or un-official party going before an after the show this weekend.

I am also seeing if there are any musicians who would want to try and snatch a spot at a bar after the show and jam. I am a pretty good wanna be carter beauford and would be willing to try and get something together if there is enough interest.

I know there is some talk of the local bars near the venue, so I am trying to solidifiy a meeting place with as many people as we can.

Either way, LETS GET SOME FELLOW ANTS TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE THE SHOW THIS SATURDAY.

I've spoken to the owner of the chain and he said there are three patios at Brazen Head, one on the main floor and then two on balconies, an East and West patio. So Ryan the GM will be expecting us and he also said it shouldn't be too busy on a Friday at 4pm with no TFC game.

Yeah Saturday is back up to 60% chance of precipitation, but only 1mm of rain forecast.
I wish they'd move the Toronto shows back to late August/early September like in 2001 and 2003. Always nice and warm then.

On that note (let me know if this should move to another thread) - curious what the audience was like in Mtl?

I hear the one (or, last) time DMB came here to Ottawa, they crowd was not as knowledgeable/receptive as DMB crowds usually are.

Really hoping they return to Mtl soon (as I do not expect it will happen here, even with our big BluesFest ) ..!

From what I remember up close to the stage, the crowd was really into it. I don't think they sold as many tickets as expected though.
