Dave and Emily haven't spoken in some time, and this song is indeed tearing their relationship apart. Quite sad, actually.

Oh my god.
OP, he's messing with you.
And just so it's out there for everyone...
It debuted in Tampa 2009, then disappeared.
I attended Outside Lands in San Francisco. It was cut from the setlist.
At the time, everyone said, “Oh, they’ll play it at Gorge!”
I attended Gorge. It wasn’t on the setlist for any of the three nights.
It was played every single night (except for the second night at The Greek in Los Angeles) for the rest of the tour.
It was allegedly going to be played at the Dave & Tim shows in Las Vegas.
I attended Las Vegas. It was not on the setlist for any of the three nights.
Cut to 2010.
I attended SPAC. It was cut from the N2 setlist. It gets played the very next show in Mansfield.
In actuality, there’s no “connection” between me and the song (or me and Dave for that matter
- I've never met the man). This all started as a joke among some friends and it apparently has spread to the rest of Ants.
For what it’s worth, it IS my favorite off of Big Whiskey, and perhaps one of my favorite songs that Dave has written. It has a lot of meaning for me because of some stuff that has gone on in my life in the last year, and I’d just really like to hear it.
There’s not much more to the story, I’m afraid.
