    Easily LITHOG followed by A-Pie.

LITHOG I'd say. Dive In with extended outro is up there though

I think SMLAM has gotten pretty good from since it was first played. When they played it on SNL, it was probably the best version I had heard of it. Seven and Funny are two others that have evolved too.

    Also, in an unrelated note:

I told my "friend" that I might be seeing 13-14 DMB shows this year. He says, "Dave's a homo!". I laugh and say "You Serious!". And he's like "Yeah." So I tell him to listen to "Shake me like a monkey" and he listens to the intro and says, "This is gay. Its about him having sex with his monkey. Its devil music. The beat is sick but his voice kills it. It gets to the "I like my coffee with toast and jelly, but I'd rather be lickin ya from ya back to ya belly!" and hes like, "Could go either way!". I told him Dave was married with a woman and he said, "He could be on the down-low with a black guy!"

wouldn't it be harder after this summer?

in 09 only a few songs changed. LITHOG gained a full 5 minute solo. Dive In gained a jam that was then dropped. a few songs gained modest solos, but nothing else ever changed since the first performance. its easy to see that LITHOG evolved the most from the album version.

next year will likely be harder as more songs change and change more often.

songs going from sloppy to how they are supposed to be played isn't really an evolution. thats just the band figuring out how to play it right. Gator Pie gaining a violin solo over the course of the summer that was no present on the album is a song evolution.

Someone that answered your question. There was no reason for you to say that. I knew you were a dick. I thought, "maybe a few years of growing up & this little piss ant might be a little more mature," so I came to comment on your thread. But then I see this. It appears you still have much to learn boy.

(BTW - the answer is LITHOG, because of the amazing Spoon-like jam at the end)

Watching " Scenes From Big Whiskey " again for the first time in a few months, I really wish that the instrumental section (the LeRoi solo ) would have been kept in " Seven. " Nice if they would let Jeff play on it live.
I like that Tim's solo on it has evolved but the tenor sax solo added to it would be really nice.

It's funny about LITHOG. They chopped 30 seconds from it for the official cut and then the live version takes on more of the rough mix outro.

    Evolution-wise...

So far I would have to say either Lithog or You and Me (not a favorite)

Download a show from the Europe tour, I downloaded 3.15 and You and Me is actually pretty good. Carter has a little drum breakdown for a little bit and then the horns bring them back into the last chorus. Completely surprised me the first time I listened to it.

Yeah twice was enough, but I'm glad they incorporated a little of the Grammy performance in it now. The Grammy version is the only one I listen to now, but the one from 3.15 is pretty good.

And yes LITHOG is the most evolved easily

    What happened here?

Also, if one performance counts, then You & Me a la The Grammys wins. LITHOG overall though.
