i don't think anyone had issues the day tix went on sale. there was a student pre-sale code that made its way to the boards which i used. all 3 nights were jammed but it was easy to choose floor or a good seat as long as you were in line when gates opened. showed up an hour early for one of the nights and 2nd to last row was the best we could do, still a great seat imo.

Can someone share a little more about the seating at the venue - is it all GA? I see there are sections but is it first come first serve in each section? Thinking of going to this and then the Gorge. Thanks

It's all GA! I love this venue. '08 was a blast!!! I'd definitely recommend doing this. We just don't get DMB playing such small venues (especially GA!) very often.

Definitely considering making the trip for this one. Would just miss the first day of class, which is worthless anyway.

Anyone considering this place do it! It was amazing in 2008. My wife and I still have friends we met here coming in knowing no one! You wont get a better chance to see the band for three nights from whatever vantage point you want to! Back then had one kid, easy to travel, now with three we wont be able to get here. But if you are in doubt, do it! Easy to fly into San Fran and take Bart right to town. We didn't need to rent a car. Just stay in Berkeley or San Fran. Check the sets from 08. I think we had like 54 different songs!

Yes entire place GA. If you go to the top of the lawn you van see the Berkeley clock tower and the golden gate bridge.

We loved the Berkeley shows in 2008. The venue was hot, literally (sky was blue and the Greek Theater cement warmed up in the sun). We've learned that you don't want to pass up a 3-show run! That's when the band gets a chance to play

We are planning a big road trip this year - from Calgary down to Berkeley/San Francisco for a week (3 shows), and then back to the Gorge (3 more) and back to Canada. Any good stops to recommend along the route (basically going from Spokane, WA south)? We'll drive back along the Oregon coast.

We are thinking about skipping the one-nighter in Bend, Oregon. Can't think we would hear anything that we won't be hearing twice (or at least once), the weekend before/after.

All we need now is the official announcement .....

I was thinking the same thing but I'll fly to San Fran because i'm from the East coast. Wanna hit the Greek then up to the Gorge and will spend some time in Seattle. Would love to know of anything stop-worthy in between

For the 2008 shows, the entire venue was GA.

So glad they are going back there. I love the Greek Theatre.

For those who are planning on Berkeley and then the Gorge and looking for stops on the way there, Ashland Oregon is a decent midway point between the two (more or less) and has outstanding theater. They call if the Oregon Shakespeare Festival but they run 11 plays, 4 of which are Willie the Shakes. Everything else tends towards more contemporary. A great place to spend a couple of nights to break up the drive.

Ah, memories of 2008 whirling around my head. Probably one of my best DMB experiences. 3-show runs are special, especially in a tiny venue. GA makes it all the better because you can sit with a whole group. In 2008, I think we had 40-50 per night packed in together. Yes, we had to be in line early, but it was so worth it to hang out and laugh. Met new people, made new friends, spent time with old friends... kind of like tailgating but in line, then in your seat. If these shows come to be, anyone thinking of going... DO IT!!!

A large group of us stayed at Motel 6 by the Oakland Coliseum in 08. We grabbed the BART to the show and back. Little did we know at the time that the same hotel is used as pre-pregame (like 2 days before) home Raider games. So maybe not the best choice in hindsight.

I am sure there are places in Berkeley, just not sure where or how much. You may want to look into Air B&B for this show, https://www.airbnb.com. Get some peeps together and rent a house for the weekend.

Looking for place to stay while down there... the above response regarding renting a house sounds tempting...

Anyone else traveling there or have ideas..? I will likely be driving down solo, and will hit the Bend show on the way back up...

I have stayed at Hotel Nash. Super cheap, decent, and walking distance.
