talked to my buddy at work and he said, "watch the game last night? bard sucked huh?"

that's exactly the reaction i'm expecting. it's not fair to bard either. people saw him in the 8th innning for a couple years and figure he'll be an ace in the rotation.

he had 16 swings and misses yesterday which is damn good for a guy that only threw basically 2 pitches. he maintained the velocity on his fastball pretty much to 100 pitches his first time out, he gave up 5 ground ball base hits against a good hitting team

i really liked what i saw from bard last night and i can see him being a guy that picks up some important experience before they put him in the pen towards the end of the summer. i really hope for his sake they give him atleast 10-12 starts this season, if they let him go until the end of the summer it'll be more like 17-20

i've always said what's best for bard is to stay in the rotation. what's best for the team right now would be him in the pen. that's stunting his development longterm, and what happens if bard goes into the pen for friday and blows his first save out there? sox nation would be in a state of panic

as much as i absolutely love the new parks around the country. i've been to some of them and they are amazing, i'm so glad they never tore down fenway and built a new park. kudos to the ownership ground for cleaning up fenway and making it what it is today.

I agree. As amazing as the new Yankee stadium is it just doesn't have the same feeling. I've been to over 20 stadiums around the league and Fenway is the best place to see a game.

i love fenway and even if they tore it down (and lets not forget that the ownership tried to, the city wouldn't let them build a new one) i'd still love it. The park i love its the seats that suck, and they really do just keep building seats on top of seats.

I grew up in a house where nobody was a Pats fan, but everyone was a sox, bruins, celtics fan. So it just kind of stuck with me.
