Hollywood Bowl N2 2007 (Oct 2 2007)

I listen to at least one track or more from this show almost daily. I love this show, aside from a very weak opener, it's a great show. What are your thoughts on the show? Was anyone there? Why hasn't this been released yet (other than the explanation that management doesn't listen to our feedback)? Would you want this to be a box set for both nights? IMO this show has some real gems in TIOY, #34, #27, Shotgun, Exodus, AB intro>>grey st. just to name a few, and the guests! I know it features a show with Danny Barnes (at least they didn't do any of his songs...), but it also has a #41 with John Mayer and an Exodus with Stephen and Ziggy Marley! Please let me know your thoughts.

10/1/07 and 10/2/07 are probably the only shows from 2007 I wouldn't mind being released.

Solid show, meh encore besides Watchtower.

edit: I actually love that main set, wouldn't mind this as a release at all.

double edit: wouldn't mind either of these for release

gravedigger dave solo E1 is the only time gravedigger should be played at a full band show.

ABI is eh, but that watchtower had a cool fonz intro, and leroi played a killer solo as well.

Was there 3rd row center and it was incredible. #41 and #34 were the highlights, with Exodus as a runner up. It was also the last show I ever saw with Leroi, so it's extra special to me.

So much truth to this statement. I remember hearing the "real" version for the first time on the 2002 tour when I saw them in St.Louis, and fell in love with the song.

I almost puked when I heard the full band version, or whatever that was on the solo album... I honestly hate it when it's played now. Such a shame.

Excellent version that I was lucky enough to see live. I also liked the St.Louis version from 2002, which was IIRC only a couple of weeks prior.

2 memories that stick out from the '02 tour..along with knowing that you'd get Loving Wings right after WAYG.

    Re: Hollywood Bowl N2 2007 (Oct 2 2007)

10.2.07 was an incredible night. Definitely a stand-out in the 35 shows I've attended since 2000. The experience meant more to me after LeRoi passed obviously, since it was the last show I saw him at, but I also remember it being a night where I was just constantly surprised and blown away. Such a joy to hear #34 (the last time they played it, and should ever play it IMO) and Mayer on #41 ("I am who I am because of Dave Matthews Band.") And ABI into Grey Street was a surprise. I love me some banjo and I will gladly take Danny Barnes (in Bela's absence). The Marley's and their band of flag-wavers on stage was more of a visual spectacle, but a fucking memorable one at that.

Weird fact, this was my SECOND Exodus. First was at my second show 12.13.00. I'm betting I'm in a VERRRRRYYYYYY small minority on Ants who could say that. Not to brag, this is probably just my coolest tour stat and I got excited about it, haha.

    That is pretty cool.

It was my second Exodus, too — I saw 9.12.05.

For a long time, I would gripe that I'd somehow seen #34 three times and Exodus twice, but never once Minarets. But now I've seen Minarets, too.

Bumping this thread for the 7 year anniversary of one the greatest shows in the post-Stand Up era.

This is one of those sets that just has an incredible flow from start to finish, even with songs I would normally skip. The performances, the guests, the energy throughout is just top notch. REALLY deserves a Live Trax some day.

ADSR is not a strong opener, but this version is just beautiful. Much better than the 6/21/08 released cut of the song, IMO. Two Step's intro gives me chills every time (and it's before Time Bomb took over, which is an added plus).

Other highlights: #34 w/ lyrics, Danny Barnes on a 5-song run, John Mayer on #41, and the Marley's on Exodus. And that ABI > Grey Street segue is just so smooth, I wish the band would blend songs like this more often. We need this released. No I wasn't there (but I wish I was!)

    Re: Hollywood Bowl N2 2007 (Oct 2 2007)

My biggest DMB regret was missing this show. I was working on a long term project in San Diego during the summer and fall of 2007, I was able to hit the Gorge that year, as well as Chula Vista and Irvine. I had tickets to both nights of the Hollywood Bowl, but had to be at work in San Diego both days. Being young and crazy, I decided that I would leave work early, drive up to LA, hit the show, stay with a friend and drive back to San Diego early the next morning for both shows. It worked until it took me almosts 5 hours to get to San Diego after leaving LA at 4:30am (seriously, what city has traffic at 4:30am? - LA does).

So after being exhausted, and not wanting to fight traffic again the next day, I decided to abandon N2.

    Mistake.

I was there! It is a great show for sure. But I remember thinking afterwards that it felt like the kind of show I should have liked more. Because it was so unique, and so different from what you would call a run of the mill DMB show, it sticks out as very special. However, musically, I've been to many other shows that have blown me away more.

Having said that, ABI---> Grey Street, #34, Exodus with the Marleys, Mayer on #41, good Danny Barnes run all contribute to this being a very special show. Oh and it was the last time I saw Roi as well.

There are definitely better individual performances elsewhere (after all, this show was in 2007...), but the overall flow was just so good, and the band was very on point that night. I've listened to this tape since the show happened and it still holds up.

im not an 07 fan, because 95% of it wasnt good but that camden show was a blast. mostly because the set was mainly classics.
So happy I decided to go to these shows down in Camden. This show was fantastic. At the time, Cornbread was still fresh and exciting and took nothing away from the show. I went to the first 11 shows of this tour and this was by far my favorite.

Would LOVE for 10.2.07 to be released as a Live Trax. I fully support this notion. There is definitely something special about the show. The performances are stellar, and ultimately that is what makes a show worth listening to repeatedly, not just the setlist on paper.
