    Appears true.

    From the home page:

"Decemberr 9: It's been an exciting week with the first two of the four anniversary shows at the Fillmore in our hometown of San Francisco and two more to go!! We've had some amazing special guests join us on stage, so we're taking a little extra time to get the shows mixed and ready for you to download. Stick with us, we'll have 'em up here for you in the next couple of days."

$13 for FLAC's of the shows seems reasonable.

I was at the MSG show in '99 for that. It was fucking great.

It's more than reasonable. That's more than 2 hours of music for each show, so it's a good price.

    Jealousy.

As previously stated, I don't love them as much as I used to, but it still would've been cool to be at even one of these 30th anniversary gigs.

I don't typically buy downloads of shows I didn't attend, but these might be worth it, depending on how their mixed. Would prefer a CD release.

Also, are people really bitching about the caravan setlists in here and how DMB hates their fans? Jesus.

I think it's an issue that the Metallica fans are more appreciative of things like this. All DMB fans do its bitch and whine. Hell, if they closed with the same song 4 nights in a row, it'd be called the worst series of shows in history.

Yeah, they still put on a great show. I think the Death Magnetic stuff really re-energized them. Plus, it was really their first record with Rob, who isn't quite as good as Cliff, but is about as close as they're gonna get in terms of fitting with the band in terms of attitude and playing style.

This is pretty cool. It's live performance stats for Metallica from prior to the 30th anniversary shows. Just something I stumbled upon.

As much as people bitch about Metallica (mostly for the Napster thing, which I agree with Metallica on this one), they really have stepped up their game in terms of setlist variety, playing older material, and their live shows over the past few years.

Yes, there's songs they have to play every night, but they do a good job of rotating the other songs.

I like that they started the whole varied setlist thing once Robert joined. I'm not sure what got them to do it, other than maybe the way Robert plays is so similiar to Cliff that they decided to bust out some old songs and it went from there.

Either way, It's good to hear some of these songs live again.

I think I remember an interview or article with them where they talked about it, and it essentially boiled down to them looking at their 2003 tours and tours around that time and it was the same thing every night and thought it would make it more interesting for them, and more special for the fans if they tried to not repeat sets. Something like that. Their response made it seem like a very fan-based decision.

Was happy to see it though. Definitely makes it a little more fun to catch a second show on the tour, which I've done a couple times now.

I still think their Bonnaroo show is probably the best show I've seen them do.

The first time I saw them, January 1996 I think, was amazing. At the end of the show the whole set collapsed and they was fire everywhere, dude's running around in flames. Total chaos. It was the greatest thing I had ever seen.

As will I. Hopefully they do something similar for this like they did for the Four Mexico City shows they did. A full box set. I saw the post with the downloads, but I want physical CDs, like the ones from Mexico City. Maybe even a DVD release of the shows. Hopefully it'll happen.
