I just read the possible lyrics Bartender_Pleeze posted and I, for one, LOVE them. If those are the real lyrics, screw all you haters. I can't wait to hear the full song. The song just screams raw and passionate. You people expect all the lyrics to be some sort of ye ol' English, some form of Shakespeare, or a limerick full of gibberish.

i understand trying to get people not to be so negative over lyrics, i agree with that idea, just seems like a bad approach. you have heard it, we havent. just seems like there are better ways to handle the situation. rise above the typical DMBc nonsense.

I'm not sure if this is being debated or not but Sarah and I just saw this. Read the lyrics and remember a lot of those lines in the song. These appear to be the lyrics, making me remember the song more now.

And just so you all know. The song rocks.. It opens the album with so much energy. Loved it. Actually we picked a song to play a second time through and this was the one. It's fun, hot, energy. The lyrics are VERY quick. Song moves fast and like jake said there's not a distictive switch to the corus. The whole song flows.

Are you talking about the first few lines in the first video we got? There was nothing written down like that as far as I can remember, but Dave is saying this at the beginning of the song:

I would not be surprised if those were real lyrics. I love DMB 09 but I can easily see that happen, cheesy as those lyrics are.

Dave is questioning God here. This line is about how the universe was made. He likes living here and loves earth, but he knows that "God and the devil could not have made you up" saying that evolution must have created the universe.

Two must have worked as one together
So good just want to eat you up
Let me like the real thing
Lick your sticky fingers boy and sing for your dinner sing

"Sticky fingers" is metaphorical for "Jesus Christ" and Dave is saying you must "sing for your dinner" meaning you must asked Christ to be saved.

Just wait. You know it's coming. Someone will break this thing down line by line and get something like that.

Absolutely. No matter what people are going to complain about them. They're new, they're different and they're not the lyrics to Seek Up. So of course they must suck.

Like I said, I think within the context of a song called SHAKE ME LIKE A MONKEY, these lyrics could work extremely well, especially with the small clip we've heard of it. They aren't meant to be life affirming and profound. And neither were Rapunzel's or What Would You Say's. It's just meant to be groovy, good music. Like I said, go read Hunger's lyrics and report back. That song was meant to be groovy and silly as well, but it lacked the actual good music to project the right vibe.

Dave's lyrics are rarely poetry that could stand on its own.
