rodey, everybody but the most selfish cbb fans realized roughly a decade ago that "the free education!" is a fiction people convince themselves of so that they don't feel an internal conflict watching old guys get rich as hell off of unpaid labor

Paying them and putting a 2 year minimum isnt really a one or the other idea.

2 year minimum is a bad idea for various reasons.

And youre right about the quality being down, but how can you blame kids coming up for doing what is best for themselves? This was an issue the NCAA was always inevitably going to deal with once people wised up to what was going on.

offensive efficiency is up
tempo is up
effective FG% is up
fouls are down
free throw % is up
defensive rebounding is up

and team experience is 99% of where it was 10 years ago

so no, I don't think it's a "fact" that game quality has gone down

I see no issue with saying, if you're going to go to college, you have to stay a few years. If you don't want to go to college, go straight to the NBA.

What if a player blossoms in his one year and becomes an NBA prospect?
What if a top tier NBA talent gets hurt year 1 and doesnt want to risk it year 2 so he declares?

None of this is black and white. Every individual player is different.

And all of academia is abused in major college sports. Listen to an interview with former college athletes, almost all say the classes are a sham.

Right. Consider that before signing up.

Players coming out of high school have three options:

College
Europe/China/Australia/Wherever else pro-ball is played
D-League

If making money is of immediate concern, the latter two are your best options.
