I'm sure they can. It wouldn't take much. Don't think there is one single thing about McDermott that says "yes, he will win" or even "yes, he could win". Not even sure the AD even looked at his resume. I know the timeline of this search really makes things difficult but Jesus.

Not sure where this belongs so I'll put it in here...but cal the first USA coach to lose a game in international competition since Paul Hewitt in 2011. All that u19 talent and lose to...Canada. To be fair canada has some quality talent but that's a bad loss for the us. Happy for canada!

I'd love to go see Arizona play in Valencia next weekend, but flights aren't that cheap and I don't mind a 9 hour bus ride, but might not be able to get one in time to get back home for work.

Bagley isn't visiting Arizona, so if he goes to college my guess is it's either Duke or USC.

I'm sure we'll know rather soon. My understanding is that he filed paperwork to initiate reclassifying.

Yeah, didn't have any hopes for Bagley especially since he reclassified. Weird time to do it. If I'm correct, he would have to play the 5 at Duke and at USC they already have a few players at the 4 which would complicate their makeup and I'm not sure they even have an open scholarship (not that they wouldn't create one). UCLA offers him an open scholarship, a chance to stay west and play his preferred postion at the 4. I have no idea. I guess Duke but wouldn't be surprised by any of those 3.

He'd honestly play his best position at whatever school. He's that good, they'll shift other things around to accommodate his game.

Best prospect in years.

Agree, for sure, but I don't always think that's a good idea. Look forward to seeing him play.

I wonder why Coach K cancelled their trip abroad just because he needs knee surgery. Why not just let someone else coach and let the kids play in the planned international games. Seems weak. His 6th surgery in 16 months.

I was wondering the same thing bc I would’ve much rather had them go anyways and use Capel to coach again. It was definitely a trip that a team this young and inexperienced needed.

However, after hearing more about it, it seems like they decided to go ahead and cancel it so that they would still be able to schedule another international trip within the next few years. Hoping that Coach K would actually be able to attend one more international trip with the team. If they had completed this trip without him, they’d have to wait several years to do another one, and no one is sure how long K will be coaching.
