Binged the Analyze Phish podcast over the weekend, have a few thoughts:
1) Harris. I love Harris. I never understood the love fest Phish fans had for him until after burning through this podcast. He seemed like such an incredibly nice and sweet dude. Seems like he would've been a ton of fun to go to shows with.
2) Harris. How incredibly sad. Listening to the Hollywood Bowl episode, he sounded depressed. He didn't sound like himself. And some of Scott's comments like "Oh, it's good to know you weren't dead." geez those were insanely sad to hear. All the stuff about rehab and trying to get his life together. If they only knew a year later.
3) "This jam is good." "So funky."
4) It's really interesting to take a step back as you listen to this and see things from how we all felt before we became fans of the band. I caught myself getting frustrated with Scott's opinion but a lot of times he really was right. Some of the stuff is so outrageous that it really is comical when you take an outside look at it.
5) I was thinking how I would've approached the project and can't say I would've done it exactly like Harris did, but the more I thought about it and after finishing the show there really is an indescribable "it" factor that you just have to get to enjoy the band.
6) This was probably the most enjoyable podcast I've ever listened to. Aside from Phish, it was absolutely hilarious and just incredibly podcasting.
