after taking quite awhile away from it, last couple days I went back to catching up on season 3 of the Flash. Just finished the 10th episode, so it's like 3 or so ones into the Savitar arc. This feels more and more like it's veering into Shumacher Batman territory. yea not literally outright bad puns, but I guess just the overall tone of character interactions and dialogue. Wally continues to be annoying from whining about being held back by everyone, and the current version of HR being so peppy and optimistic. and it seems like the tiniest little bit of conflict among the characters is stretched out into such big melodrama.
plus, honestly is the outfit that Wally's wearing now as Kid Flash seriously supposed to be helping him maintain a secret identity? That's ludicrous, I mean the whole top of his head is left wide open, you'd have to be completely braindead to look at him in the suit and NOT realize that's Wally West
(well I guess, presuming you're already at least a little familiar with Wally the person)
so like, for the overall plot arc I'm curious to see where they're going with this and what Savitar's all about (though I'm already sure it'll just wind up being a "version" of a character we already know) but I certainly don't feel an excitement of going from one episode to the next as like when I first started with the show. It's nearing become a chore.
