Re: 2012 NFL Off-Season Thread

Did anyone else get an email form the NFL shop? Tim Tebow gear already? He's number 0 and they're selling all sizes of replica Reebok jerseys for $84.99. I'm wondering if they're just jacking the price, had to make a special run with Reebok since Nike is taking over, ...or if the new Nike replica jerseys will be $84.99 instead of the usual $74.99-$79.99 I've seen in recent years from Reebok.

EDIT: #0 because his number has not been assigned.

Tebow didn't get to choose where he went. Come on.

Almost all the jersey's they were selling didn't have a Reebok logo on them after x-mas. Looks like they've got some Jets blanks sitting around that they need to move in the next week.

Any Pats fans want to shed some light on this Anderson cat that the Bills signed today? I saw he had 10.0 sacks last season, but didn't seem to do much outside of that. What kind of player is he?

Anderson is a pass rush specialist that has been productive twice in a seven year career. Nothing to get excited about.

he was brought in for depth and when andre carter went down anderson filled in really well. like you said, 10 sacks. he got plenty of chances of course because everyone threw on the pats D. he was a very good pass rusher, but he was average at best against the run

worked out well for the pats though. they always seem to get value out of these type of guys and then let them walk because they don't want to pay them. i think anderson made 1.5mil last year

He was drafted by the Bears in 2006 as a DE. Had 12 1/2 sacks his rookie year. He was used mainly as a pass rusher on 3rd down that year. The Bears tried handing him the starting job twice. Even getting rid of his competition to do so. He can't stop the run at all.

From what I've seen the Pats used him perfectly. He won't drop into coverage and he still won't stop the run. He can rush the passer. An Anderson/Williams combo will be great, but if they don't get sacks both will be ineffective.

Which I'm sure is why they're going back to a 4-3, their linebackers are better suited there. Barnett and Morrison are much better suited as 4-3 OLBs, which should let Williams and Anderson pin their ears back and rush the passer with Dareus and Williams up the middle to control the run. Thanks for the breakdown...

I forgot about Wannstedt switching the Bills to a 4-3. I personally wouldn't want anything to do with Anderson in a 4-3. He's best suited as a 3-4 OLB.

There was such a market that no one wanted him for three days until a horribly mismanaged franchise overpaid for him. Got it.
Look here, little bitch, we weren't talking about football. We were talking about his leadership qualities, which by all accounts are off the charts. You, having never met the man, nor been in the Jets locker room, are making assumptions against all evidence that says the exact opposite of what you're saying.

You are more irrational and emotional than a 14 year old girl on her period.

I should also add that there wasn't a 3 day window where he wasn't traded. You either can't count or don't know.

Actually Sparano is a great OC for Sanchez's development when you look at his body of work and offensive philosophies. Especially back in Dallas with a young Tony Romo. Ground and pound, tight end heavy, effective blocking schemes. He had Drew Bledsoe the first half of the season then when he went down and Romo came in, Sparano changed his whole philosophy and it worked pretty damn well. Thats something we have never had. As much as Sparano would have helped it, having Tebow will hurt it. I get it football wise for packages and whatnot but it's just not conducive to our actual QBs development.

So you're a troll who tries to play the victim, makes stuff up no one says or implies, and attempts to convince yourself of nonsense by repeatedly posting it over and over again in hopes of both you believing it and others believing it. Pitiful.

He'll be a real free agent next year. Then he'll take less. This could be genius if he hates Pittsburgh.

If he signs the tender the Steelers put on him, he only gets 2.74mil this year and is a UFA next year. Can't wait until that overrated idiot is gone.

Not necessarily. He'd also still make less under the franchise tag than he would compared to the contract he wants anyway.
