Do you think you need a ticket to the show? I'm tempted just to go this route.

EDIT: Looks like no individual tickets, but maybe you can still hear pretty well !

I can do these exact dates, granted with discounts, at this exact place in the same exact rooms for around $600 total. airfare, hotel, transportation included. The cheapest package is $1700 at the hard rock.

I'd essentially be paying over $300 per show for d&t. No fucking way.

This whole trip is insanely over priced!

Expedia has the same hotel, Barcelo Palace for $441 for 2 people in the same Junior suite, all inclusive, and tax included. Airport transfers in a private suburban are $130 each way. That comes out to $2024 for 4 nights. The same in the package is $5069?!? $507.50 in tickets per person, per night as the opportunity cost for the experience, seems very rich. How many packages/ tickets are the selling?? Will it be all that intimate?

My better half is wanting to go, but if it is a couple thousand people..... meh!

If I knew there were only going to be 1,000 or fewer people, that would definitely up the value for me. Still pretty spendy though.

Here's some pics from the Phish show at the same place. "Intimate" isn't really the word I'd use to describe it.

That's my question as well. is it only 150 people? That might be awesome. If it's 1000, that's terrible.

My bro booked direct at the resort before reading the website... Hahahaha

Thought he could get the room for 1400 and buy a ticket later, don't jump the gun.

Hopefully this will be a trial run, and DMB will do it next year after all the kinks are worked out and they're more comfortable with it.

If I'm gonna pay that much money, I want to really dance on the beach.

if I'm paying a few thousand to go, even I'm watching my intake to make sure I make it. Now after the fact, it's open bar at the resort. Yeah, that would be fun.

Thanks for posting this. The images are making me re-think. As mentioned, a intimate crowd would make this worth it. I want to enjoy my days with activities other, and my room at night then worry about being in the WH line to get in, only to have some put down a blanket to claim territory.

The single supplement is crazy too. I'm hoping someone is interested in sharing a room. But, do I take a leap and buy a double?

im not seeing any info on what happens if you buy that hard rock one for 4 people/1700 ea. i buy it, and then i can pick whatever 3 people I want to share with me? i'm sure I'd have no issues finding 3 people to share a room with

im also guessing that will be the first one to sell out

I would rather spend that money to see them at Red Rocks or somewhere else, that's too much $ for 2-3k people at a D&T show.

No; You will only need to provide the lead guest’s name via the “Will Call/Pick-Up” field during the purchase process. Our guest services team will reach out in the coming months to collect your additional guest information and travel plans for the shuttle program.

guess i just need to pay more attention

This is spendy, I went to both of the MMJ concerts at the same resort and it was not nearly this much, plus they had a couple others bands play each day as well.

As for the picture of the Phish one, not accurate at all. The Phish shows were billed as Riveria Maya but they played at a different location than the hard rock. The hard rock shows are played on the cement between the two sets of buildings and you have the ocean as a back drop. I believe the MMJ shows had about 2500 people and we had plenty of room and great views nightly, it was very easy.

Just my two cents but don't let the Phish pics scare you off, this is not the same thing.

Good info. What really scares me is the single supplement. Gambling on another compatible paying the split, after I've shelled out the money is probably 40 to 1. People will most likely try to wait out people who do that, or have another drop out of their group to get a reduced rate opportunity. Can't blame them, though.

Re: Dave & Tim in Mexico, February 2017

I did this for Phish last year, it was absolutely incredible and worth every penny

    My Tips;

-You will want to stay at the barcelo, its so much more convenient to basically be staying on site, the other resorts should only be considered as a last resort

-buy the cheapest 4 person package at barcelo, and split it with friends, its the most affordable way to go ($1740pp)

-you will not need to spend a dime down there unless you want to. they pick you up at the airport, take you to the hotel, and people try and shove free food and drinks at you with every step. there are multiple restaurants and bars around the venue, all FREE

-its at best around 5000 people, on a gorgeous beach, with the band playing....nothing like it
