The scene that absolutely killed me was the "potatoes" scene. "Mmm, this potato has ears!"

The whole commentary was absolutely stellar, but that scene put it completely over the edge.

Watched "I Accuse My Parents" and your favorite, "Time Chasers", before football started this afternoon. Jesus, the commentary in "Time Chasers" is them at the peak of their game.

Now re-watching "Manos". Holy jeez, this movie's even worse than I remember it. Joel gets the line of the show (so far--half-hour to go), during the fight the Master's wives have: "You know, this is the alternate ending to Beaches." That was fucking awesome.

Line after line after line is just pure gold in that episode. If I had to pick a single favorite line from it, it would have to be "Oh my God, she's wearing two forms of plaid. I'm a naked robot and even I know that's a fashion no-no!" But there are so many other great ones too like "Aha! So it's bikes then, we accept your choice of vehicle!"

Even the host segments, which are often meh, are hilarious in the Time Chasers episode.

what's funny is the bits they do in between the movie(s) are as bad as the films they review. I'm sure they're designed that way, but if they're trying to be funny they rarely are (the robots are usually funny, but the chick human and Mike/Joel are 50/50 of being on).

Is this on cable at all right now (meaning 2011)?

there were about 8 or 9 really funny lines from Dr. Z:

A monster comes out of a lab and is walking down a staircase and the puppet (either Crow or Servo) say: since when do monsters use railings (as the monster held onto the railing walking down). The timing and deliver was quite funny and funnier then it reads here. Timing is usually the key.

As far as I am aware it isn't. I think there are a lot on youtube, and I know there are a ton that are available instantly on Netflix.

You need to see the Andy Rooney-off bit from Season 9:

    http://youtu.be/BMm4nSxPCOA

It's not currently airing on TV, but as Casey said, there's lots of YouTube clips and Netflix Instants available. If you have less of a problem with downloading, every single episode is up on TVFreeload.com.

It started off good, but died down and the chick who said Mickey Rooney was the buzzkill to give it a * 1/2 rating out of 4.

I did like the eyebrows on the gumball machine, tho (Servo).

What's the backstory on this by the way? Somehow Mike did something wrong and he and the puppets are sentenced to watching bad movies? Something like that? I forget how it goes.

Anyone belong to the fanclub that they give an ad to sometimes during movies?

half way through Final Sacrifice. I heard this is epic. Only mildly funny so far. The football joke for the kid's father was funny. And the bot's song about Rowdowser was good. Up to the point where he goes looking for water cause the truck broke down.

I would check w/your local library to see if they carry any eps, because most libraries belong to a network and work w/surround cities. Going to the next town over to get MST3K volume 2 today.

good move. It's free. And if your library doesn't have a copy, chances are a library in the network will have copies that your card will belong to.

Just finished Final Sacrifice. It definitely got much funnier when they ran into the dude who was a cross between Redd Foxx/Sling Blade/Randy Savage and looked like Grady from Sanford and Son. That line when Rowsdower was putting booze on his tattoo was funny. I thought Tom Servo was funny with the sound effects, including the final credits.

Anyone ever notice that Crow kinda looks like C3PO and Servo is shaped a bit like R2D2?

So they had an Extra on the DVD and had an interview with Bruce Mitchell, Rowsdower. Real cool dude. Said he went down from acting class and met the director, a 20 year old and took the role. He was going for a different part. The chick on his dashboard was his real life girlfriend, now his wife. The credits have him and the kid's real names screwed up. Said the budget was super small and they had to bring sandwiches to the set. Real cool guy. He knows it's got a cult following on Mystery Science Theater 3K so it must have been done within the past 2 or three years.

Am I the only one on this board who's heard of TVFreeload.org? Guys, every single episode the show ever aired is there. Free registration, and since it's one-click downloads, no ratio requirement. I mean, as long as you're OK with a little copyright violation... But really, back when it was done, VHS tapes of this show were some of the most widely traded around. I see no difference.

I named my cat Trumpy because of how similar he looked to the alien when he was a kitten. Great, great episode.

    "Oh, he does stupid things!"

Regarding Space Mutiny...that is easily top-three for me. Absolutely hilarious, from start to finish. Here's a montage: http://youtu.be/RFHlJ2voJHY

I also recommend Prince of Space, The Skydivers, The Creeping Terror...oh, they go on and on.

I'm about halfway through it. Awesome.

"This is my daughter. We're roughly the same age."

"Oh no! My stairmaster's in there!"

"Oh! He had a Starburst in his mouth!"

"The company newsletter says my hair looks like Susan Powter's."

Now watching "The Touch of Satan". Best bits are based on the use of the phrase "walnut ranch":

    "Don't scare the walnuts."
"We're going to milk the walnuts later."

Oh and the fish thing is great:

"This is where the fish lives."
"Why did you run from me?"
Because that's where the fish lives!
