DMB songs you passed up in the beginning

I (like many) did not fully grasp the greatness of this band upon first listen. Sure i had heard crash and what would you say on the radio from time to time and that was all good but it wasn't untill i did some very serious listening on my own that it came up and bit me that this was something very very special. The song that this happened to me on was Tripping Billies from Luther College. I just spoke to me and moved me in ways i had never been moved. I was hooked. Since then, i can say honestly that there are only about 3 or 4 DMB songs that i don't really care for. It wasn't always that way....In fact some of my all-time favorites now are songs i skipped by when i was an amatuer DMB fan. I would always skip by Two Step and (gulp) Say Goodbye in the beginning, mainly i think because of the extended intros. Just today it happened again while listening to LiveTrax Vol. 6 (Alpine 04). I had never cared for "Crazy Easy" and today i just grabbed me. I have to say i love the song now. So i'm curious, what songs did you pass up when you were an inexpierienced DMB fan?

In the beginning, I skipped #41, Cry Freedom, DIDO and Rhyme & Reason. 15 years later, I still skip R&R, Seek Up, and Halloween. Just not my thing. Funny how things change, though.

Hated Dancing Nancies and 2 Step. Who the hell knows why?

Went to a DMB show early on in my fandom, and hoped so badly that neither of these songs got played. Both did get played. They were highlights of the show. I never skipped over those 2 again!

Yes, i have to say Rhyme and reason is still a song i dislike, as is Halloween. Alot of DMB fans regard it as something of the holy grail but after hearing it at Alpine 08' and '09 i'm so tired of it and if i never heard it again it'd be too soon.

I got UTTAD way back when it first came out and only listened to BOWA, Ants and WWYS. Took me 9 years from that point to have my eyes opened to DMB. Missed a lot of great Bay Area shows in the interim...

Used to skip Seek Up and Crush. LT13 was the first version of Crush I heard and I was always like "what the fuck is this intro". Also wasn't a fan of Minarets (still think it's a tad overrated) and Last Stop (C'Ville N2 09 I was thinking "why are people chanting for this, it's not that great")

I always skipped The Stone. It has a creepy intro on the studio album. My best friend made me listen to it once and I was hooked. I never skip a song entirely anymore. Stone is in my top 5.

I don't skip songs either. I force myself to listen because ive learned that even if i don't LOVE a DMB song right off the bat, i will eventually...

Almost all their songs. I only liked a couple. And then I heard a couple more and liked them. It's like every month I find another song I've passed over until now. At this point, I know it keeps it interesting, so I try and wait on listening to songs I haven't heard yet.

Just 2 weeks ago I finally let myself listen to Lillywhite Sessions for the first time, so now I'm into that.

The '04 songs are next whenever the LW Sessions get old. Can't say I've ever heard all of Sugar Will or Crazy Easy.

Give them a chance. They are both very good in my opinion.
