Best (preferably released) Version of Raven

Raven is one of my favorite DMB tracks and I was just wondering what the community feels is the best version out there.

Man, this song needs to be back in rotation.

Raven was never better than when it was performed in 2000, LT3 is my answer.

Is there a master thread with a list of all studio songs and then a list of the best (most popular voted on) officially released versions? I'd like to know what people like the best for all songs. It seems like someone creates a thread like this every couple of weeks. would like to know for all songs in one easy location

We definitely need a spring 09 release of this song. Those versions are great... they seem slightly slower and just played awesome.

benaroya is fantastic, but i dont know how u can pick atlantic city when it doesn't have the dave guitar intro. i don't think u can beat the one from MSG 2009, musically.

Truth (when talking about 09/11 versions) but The Gorge version from the caravan had the dave & tim intro.. I liked that one more than the AC one by far. And loved the spring 09 ones too

This is my least favorite type of discussion. This place gets so weird when discussing anything from the Lillywhite Sessions.

The same group of people that rip DM a new one over poor lyrics, absolutely celebrate the shittiest sounding mess of fuck, known as Busted Stuff tunes before they were finished.

Granted, there were some OK versions of some songs (mostly just SUAD and Grey Street), but Raven and Captain and Big Eyed Fish were never good at all until they were finished.

    Flame on.

Unpopular opinion time: for the most part the 2000 Ravens meander and it improved when recorded for Busted Stuff.

2000, in general, is a little overrated in my opinion. Yeah, most of the setlists were pretty killer (mostly b/c they hadn't written many bad songs yet) - but a lot of the performances were sloppy.
