Yeah no way this is simply team performance related. Something behind the scenes for sure. Amazing to see Steve Smith, DeAngelo and Norman all basically cheer for his firing. Even tho those guys all had rocky departures, you don't see that happen often. Might be a sign.

As far as his moves as GM, I agreed with most of them (even letting Norman walk) and I thought his 1-3 Rd draft picks in his tenure were pretty good overall as well.

I want Dorsey to replace him.

I thought letting norman walk for nothing was terrible management but other than that I've loved everything he's done

Marty will be fine on a one year basis. He knows the roster and the team well. Follows them closely. Need to look elsewhere after this year.

Still can't believe Richardson canned Gettleman. Probably won't matter much this year, but going forward it could really set the franchise back if they don't make another great hire.

Is there a more snake-bitten franchise in the NFL than the Chargers? Jesus. Never seen a team with such shit luck. When Woodhead makes it through this coming season without missing a game, that will be the proof there's a curse on the Chargers.

Well yea but that's because they stink. I'm talking injuries. Their lack of rings isn't because of injuries, but I would say they'd have either gotten one or gotten extremely close had their prime players stayed healthy.

wow I had no idea. that makes no fucking sense at all.

Guys suspended for the first game or so can take full part in practice, but a guy that isnt cannot.

    More from PFT...

Clearance for “all preseason activities,” including practices and games, called for Bryant to make arrangements for “clinical resources” in Pittsburgh. It appears whatever arrangements have been made haven’t passed muster with the league.

Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert released a statement on Thursday afternoon saying that Bryant remains limited to off-field work as training camp gets underway.

“Upon his conditional reinstatement in April, Martavis Bryant was made aware it was only the beginning of a process toward a return to being a full contributing member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. We have been informed by the NFL that Martavis is still in the process of being fully reinstated. Until that time, Martavis will be permitted to take part in off-the-field team activities at training camp, but he will not be permitted to practice or play in any games.”

It seems counterintuitive that players who will be suspended for games in the early portion of the season are able to practice and play in the preseason while Bryant is not, but that’s the position that the wideout is in until further notice.

Can one of the mods change the title to simply "The NFL Thread" ?

The HOF game is tonight and it's kind of pointless to start a new thread.

Yeah i was surprised too. It's early this year it seems. IIRC it's always been on a sunday.

Although, preseason week 1 starts on the 9th and the Steelers play on the 11th.

Tannehill hurt on non contact injury. No indication of how serious yet but could be bad.

You really needed Deadspin to come to this conclusion? Also this year's wasn't that great minus the "Hackenberg makes Tebow look like Chris fucking Kyle" line. Most things they listed as sucking are things the team in order to suck. Doesn't have the same affect when the team is TRYING to suck IMO.

I've probably posted on here before about this but I always enjoy Deadspin's "Why Your Team Sucks" articles. Today's on the Jets had the best line of the year. http://deadspin.com/why-your-team-su...ets-1797496551

Amazing. Only the Jets could sign Tim Tebow and then find the one quarterback IN HISTORY who could make Tebow look like Chris fucking Kyle. Every time Christian Hackenberg throws a ball, it’s like he’s throwing it for the first time.

I think it's one of those situations where he either gets the surgery to completely repair it and miss the season or let it "heal" and miss the first four weeks then play hurt.

I mean, just get the surgery. The team isn't going anywhere with Tannehill. To me it's one less year you have to watch him severely underperform the contract he was given.
