Early on, this thread is simply collecting rumors. Not much solid info, but it's fun to talk about what is to come in 2015. As we get closer to the tour being announced, more solid information starts to come to light, along with projected dates (that generally are correct most times). This helps people plan for travel, particularly booking hotels close to venues and being able to save money doing so. I think this is probably one of my favorite threads on Ants (other than the Vinyl thread) because it helps people plan for the upcoming tour season, and save money in the process.

Absolutely!! I've saved so much $$ on hotel costs and have been able to plan time off way in advance... so thanks for this thread..

The venue is still being discussed let alone built.
They can't/don't want to book dmb for the fairgrounds across the street that holds 17k too. (Granted run by different people)
Dmb books pretty early, they are not going to book a show for a venue that's projected to be built
    2016 yes
Yeah I was kind of thinking that myself, but they seem to be really into the idea of DMB playing there, especially in 2015. I don't know how likely it is for 2015, but I think 2016 is a lock though.

Every 15,000+ seat venue in the U.S. wants DMB to play next year...won't happen for 99% of them

The Mayer was pretty involved in getting dmb to play alliance stadium too
I think she is a fan which is good for the locals
Clearly she follows what bands can sell tix (unlike the fairground), dmb and Zac brown are the top picks

Is this saying that the Tulsa show only had 8800 tickets up for sale?

Can someone explain that to me.. why does the tour not start in Fla and then move to Texas.

Same with these Cali shows followed by the North West followed by Cali shows.
I may be wrong but this seems highly inefficient to me (and yes .. I know that dMb has to share these venues/scheduling with ither acts)

I liked Snowden Grove in 2013, was a nice venue, and not far from here at all.

I've often wondered the same thing myself. Noticed for several tours now they'll play some northeast shows then go midwest, then go back east then west and all mix it together instead of playing many dates in a region consecutively and then moving to the next region. Also you'd think they'd do the Florida and southeast dates (ie va and nc) at the beginning of the tour in may when it's cooler and not in July. Thankfully they did atl in may this year, still muggy but cooler temperature.

I see a SHIT load of guest passes at the WPB shows, which makes me think the bands' friends and family travel hard for those shows. Perhaps the band treats it like a vacation trip, which wouldn't work as well in May (kids still in school and what not).

I did a little more research, and the goal is to host the first concerts there in late summer 2015, and DMB and Zac Brown Band are both mentioned by the County Executive as acts that are intended to be booked.

Here is a link with more info: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.s...daga_lake.html

It would be interesting to see of DMB does play here, though it could mean no Darien.
When they played at Alliance Bank Stadium in 2009 it was a huge success. I can guarantee DMB will be one of the first bands the venue targets to play the there. It will fit 17,000 people total which is perfect for DMB at this this juncture of their career. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped Darien Lake from the tour and add this venue instead.

looking at that video for that Syracuse amphitheater, its basically Bethel West. not a bad thing though. i can see DMB scratching darien for this if its up for next summer. if i remember correctly, darien's ticket sales this year were pretty poor.

Darien tic sales blew, like 55% sold or something
Syracuse venue would prob draw a lot of acts too, crossroads of the thruway and 81
Syracuse also has a hugeeee dmb following biu many of them don't travel long distances
It would be a great fit

That is exactly what I thought. It looks alot like Bethel woods, which is not a bad thing at all! It is my favorite upstate NY venue.

Hope we can get consistent Raleigh shows at Walnut Creek going foward. Charlotte was starting to feel like my home venue 2010-2013. Farm Aid was total bonus this year though.

Did you see the numbers for two NC shows this year? I doubt Raleigh gets another show soon, and Charlotte should be worried too, but I guess they have to do at least one NC show:

43 Dave Matthews Band PNC Music Pavilion Charlotte, N.C.
    July 22, 2014 $787,932
    13,884 / 18,908 1 / 0 $75, $40.50 Live Nation

44 Dave Matthews Band Walnut Creek Amphitheatre Raleigh, N.C.
    July 23, 2014 $743,622
    14,181 / 19,980 1 / 0 $75, $40.50 Live Nation

They sold out the lawn in Charlotte in 2013 on a Wednesday. This year's show was on a Tuesday and it stormed like crazy before drying out during the show. Perhaps that's why this year's attendance was down. Both shows got great sets though and dmb loves playing there. always good sets in vharlotte. Don't think they skip nc. I'd like them to play Raleigh and charlotte on a Friday - Saturday and/or get 2 nights for Charlotte on a Friday-saturday.
