I'm confused by the timeline. So had he gone back and changed time would that have erased everyone else's current existence? Making Ronnie and Caitlin's wedding pointless? Basically they get married, then he changes time and none of them know each other. That's what I got out of that. And it made no sense to me. Also, just because he wanted to get his family back together, all 10 of these people were willing to sacrifice their entire lives and memories for Barry?
It was ok, I was a little disappointed with the final episode. I'm bummed Reverse Flash is dead now. He was the best part of the show. Overall it was an ok show. Hoping for better in Season 2.

I doubt he'll stay dead. It has been confirmed Tom Cavanaugh will be back for Season 2 and the producers kind of hinted at the guy who played Thawne before he killed Wells will be back.

It's all an alternate timeline. So anything that happened in Season 1 can basically be said to be irrelevant as it wasn't the "main timeline", it was an "alternate timeline".
Eddie kills himself making Eobard never exist. Okay, got that part.
So, if Eobard didn't exist in the future, wouldn't that instantly modify that timeline from Season 1? Because he came back to "speed up" the particle accelerator when he became Wells. But if he never went back to become Wells wouldn't that have made the "present day" a completely different timeline?

I guess it really depends on what sort of time travel theory you're going on. If you believe in the Butterfly Effect, then yes I think according to that theory everything will change regarding the timeline and the versions of the characters we saw in Season 1. If you believe in the Alternate Timelime theory, then the events of Season 1 were already in an alternate timeline that was affected by Thawne traveling back in time. I believe that was already confirmed by the show runners. So I think things will relatively stay the same as far as Barry having his powers, but i think they'll definitely explore the Multiverse concept more next season, as was indicated by Jay Garrick's Flash helmet coming through the wormhole Wells/Thawne was about to go through in the finale. If they start incorporating Earth-2 or Wally West stories then this show is about to get awesome.
I was saying to Chad in another thread that I liked Season 1, but I didn't love it like I wanted to. There was a lot of the cheesy CW teen romance and silliness for my taste. Whenever they focused on Reverse Flash the show got serious and really good. But there wasn't enough of that. They write those stories perfectly. But all the in between stuff is just cliche dialogue. I'm hoping for a stronger season 2, because I really want to love it. I love the Flash and have been waiting for years to see a movie or show.

One theory I read that isn't too likely but sounded really cool. When Flash is using speed force and he sees all those flashes of alternate timelines (Killer Frost, Flash museum, Legends of Tomorrow, etc) he sees one of himself in jail. They suggested that in an alternate timeline Barry could be in jail for killing his mom and his dad somehow took the Flash powers and wore the Jay Garrick hat.
Probably couldn't work because Garrick is 40's Flash and it's totally non canon, but it would make a neat storyline

I thought Flash was much better than the Arrow this year. Sure it had its growing pains, but it really found its stride about halfway through the season. I just sort of accept the relationship drama for what it is; they need to have some sort of interest in the characters outside of the superhero stuff, but I agree it could be done better and comes of cliche and cheesy a lot of the time. The crossover events with Arrow were awesome, though.

Were those flashes of alternate timelines, or of the future? The only alternate one would be Barry in jail, but I was going on the assumption that those events had actually occurred or will actually occur. And I also wouldn't put much credence into the fact that it's non-canon, Golden Age Flash (JG) has made plenty of appearances in modern-day stories, so they could pull it off, even if they changed the name and time period slightly.
I've read two different theories, that they were alternate times and/or they were the future. Either makes sense because a wormhole warps space/time - so from a physics standpoint it's the future. From a theoretical physics viewpoint it's alternate timelines.
To me it makes sense that they establish alternate timelines because it would explain the cinematic/TV universe being different.

Definitely looks like that could work. I don't remember all episodes from both seasons well enough to give a solid answer on that. Are you just starting Arrow season 3 as well? I actually just finished that last night.

Yea. Thru s2 of Arrow. I can watch em both new simultaneously
The schedule you set out seems to be right (as far as I can tell they're in chronological order), so that'll be the order they appeared on TV to people who were watching week to week. I did that and it seemed fine, although I do remember thinking that one story may have been one week behind the other while I was watching. Might want to look into that if you think it's a big deal but I don't think it affects either story at all.

This is really not necessary but for a more optimal viewing experience I was thinking it would be better to watch Arrow 3x10-12 before Flash 1x10. 3x10-12 picks up 3 days after 3x9 and takes place in a span of a couple weeks and Flash 1x10 picks up a few weeks after 1x9
Awesome. First season was a little slow until the very end, but they've laid a solid foundation. Really looking forward to the expanded multiverse type stuff they'll be delving into.
