haha - I feel your pain.

The first thing to go on those Alpine beers is the incredible aroma from all the dry hopping. Your 3 month old bottles aren't going to taste bad, but they won't be anything like they were fresh.

The hoppy birthday dated "best by April" my buddy recently brought over (bottled in October) had lost all of it's hop presence. Just tasted like a bland pale ale.

Carmel is kinda remote but basically halfway between Lagunitas and Firestone Walker for the big breweries. Can't go wrong with anything from either one of those.

My birthday is Friday and a bunch of friends and I are going to Tappers Arcade bar. Craft beer and 47 vintage style arcade machines all free to play. Really excited.

    3. we're serving cocktails and wine, in addition to beer, so #2 is the driving force.

For some reason, caterer's/event planners have very foul opinions of "draft beer." Bottled bud light is apparently SO much classier. We ran into this for our wedding years ago. Had to fight tooth and nail to get a few cases of Sierra Nevada.

any help is appreciated guys....I had that Imperial Berry Bu last night and now I'm hooked....and I feel like I'm way behind the 8 ball on this.

also, Kevin....your local IPA's are like the best IPA's in the country....the best the midwest can offer is Head Hunter IMO....but I can get that.

I was just in STL a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get to do as many breweries as I wanted to, but did do 4 Hands and Urban Chestnut (the washington st location). They have a sweet outdoor space there, so worth a stop for a beer if it's nice out.

If you know someone who is willing to send bottles for not so ridiculous trades, consider letting them know about me. I will make it worth their while and effort. And glassware :-)
