115 for Lester and still counting. Might be time to skip a start and hit the links.

My nephew wants a new Red Sox jersey for his birthday this year. Who should I get him, Crawford or Lackey?

bard and doubront are the aces of this staff. lester is coming around. big start tonight for beckett...he really needs a good outing against a bad offensive team to warm him up for sunday. he'll see back to back bad offensive teams in his next two starts

I think Beckett needs to pitch well just for his own well-being and perception right now. He's a selfish, arrogant bastard, but he needs to harness that attitude and get back to pitching like an Ace and shut the hell up.

and putting him where? that's 16mil you're taking out of the rotation. 30mil if you include lackey being out of the rotation. i'd think about taking clay out (depending on what he does his next start) before i'd think about taking beckett out

He's just been awful and he's acting like he doesn't want to be there. At some point it doesn't matter how much money you're paying a guy you can't keep putting him out there.

For the record I think he'll start to get back on track tonight but I was just wondering how low people were on him.

i'm low enough on him that i boo'ed him at the game last thursday, but that's just because of his attitude and lack of production. he deserved it. if he goes out and acts like he wants to be the same pitcher he was april-august last year a lot of people will turn around their opinion on him. he's still one of my favorite players, but his actions the past couple weeks have been less than impressive

Right I understand that. My question was if he comes out tonight and looks like he'd rather be anywhere else and gets shelled again, how much longer do you tolerate it?

That's what I mean, I don't care if he's arrogant/cocky, but just shut up and pitch and be productive. It's different when you can back your attitude up with solid work, but it looks completely different when you're pitching poorly (and have been since late August) and acting like you don't care about anything or anyone.

When you only have 6 starts 2 bad starts really inflate your ERA.

another 2 years or until the sox decide to move him and eat 20+mil or so. we don't really have a choice. he heard the fans' displeasure of him last time out.
