I agree and will most likely not be going this year.

I was really hoping this would be the year too.

Yeah that's pretty bad. That, or I'm getting old. I recognize maybe 10 acts on that list.

yup, gonna pass this year. no appeal at all to me. The only bands that I would want to see at all are UM and Greensky and I can see them for much cheaper locally.

u2 feels really random when you look at the middle tier bands. why not have a few bands match them?

the lineup gets really messy when they try to compromise to please everyone. so you end up pleasing no one. i can't see someone that loves EDM, or folk, or classic rock, or hip hop, feel like they need to come see this lineup, when they could just go to a couple of cheaper local shows. idk, the lineup doesn't have a good flow to it IMO

'roo attendance has taken a beating the past few years.

    Estimated

    2016: 45,500
    2015: 74,000
    2014: 90,000+
    2013: 90,000
    2012: 100,000

I can't imagine 2017 being much better than last year. Live Nation acquired AC Entertainment in 2015. See a trend happening?

not a bad line up, just a lot of a fluff too. looking past the headliners, there is a lot of stuff there that i like, Turkuaz, Haywyre, Greensky Bluegrass, Preservation hall jazz band, Goldfish, G Jones, Snails.

Big G, Chance, Flume, Umphs, Glass Animals, RHCP are all great upper tier acts, too.

I wouldn't mind seeing the headliners (U2, RHCP & Chance - who the hell is The Weekend?) but the rest of the lineup is terrible. Aside from like 3-5 bands below the first two lines I don't even know who they are.

This festival has really gone downhill.

was just thinking about this too. doesn't even look like they've updated the website since last august...was thinking maybe it was not happening this year, which was why Lockn or SCAMP were the two big ones for me this year.

Greensky Bluegrass is one of the best string bands out there these days, and Turkuaz is just killing it lately with the funk (one of the best live bands i've seen in a while too). If you're into EDM, Big Gigantic is a real good time, lots of live music to enjoy too. Umphs if you love jam bands...they are one of the best.

there's a lot to enjoy if you enjoy a lot of different kinds of music. i've found that it's hard to hit up an entire line ups worth of music too, so picking 8-10 (not hard at most festivals) big guys/things i'm interested in is usually the way to do it.

Roo seems like a well run festival with a lot to do. I feel like thats what they have going for them at this point.

In the same boat. LOCKN's lineup looks outstanding, and sure to add even more to the undercard.

Anybody ever been? I'm not sure what kind of scene or environment it is?

never been, but based on the line ups since it's incarnation, old hippies and a lot of psychedelics seems to be the scene. If i still lived on the east coast, i'd check it out. came awfully close in 2014, went to Peach instead.
