OOMH is a song that I think has gotten a lot better recently. Those 2011 ones weren't entirely bad.

I agree. KILLS anything a show has going. If they're gonna play it at a show, it wouldn't be as harmful E1. But they don't do that.

Although the Randalls N3 one kinda kicks ass

Not sure if this was posted....

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND FAN ALERT: WILL-CALL ONLY TICKETS FOR DMB AT KLIPSCH MUSIC CENTER
    03/02/2012

WASHINGTON – Today, the Fan Freedom Project (FFP) and Consumer Action issued an alert for Dave Matthews Band fans about restrictive ticketing policies for the June 22 and June 23 shows at the Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana.

According to Live Nation’s website, pit section tickets for both shows are will-call only. This policy will require fans to present the credit card used to purchase the ticket and a valid photo ID at the venue in order to gain admittance. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. EST.

“We believe fans own the tickets they buy and have the right to do with their tickets what they wish,” said FFP Consumer Advocate Elizabeth Owen. “Anti-consumer policies like will-call only strip ticket-buyers of their freedom to buy and sell tickets as they please. Parents should be able to purchase tickets as gifts for their kids, and fans should be able to give away or resell their tickets if plans change at the last minute.”

Added Linda Sherry, Director of National Priorities at Consumer Action: “With will-call only tickets, caveat emptor – let the buyer beware. Fans should be sure to read the fine print before they purchase Dave Matthews Band tickets at the Klipsch Music Center. We don’t want anyone to waste their hard-earned money because they were not aware of these restrictions.”

Finally looked at my confirmations today. Got Alpine Pit, declined for DC.
I disagree with this statement. My 2 Alpine mid-lawn shows had poor sound. Dave was completely drowned out by women screaming and people talking/singing. I couldn't even hear the last chorus of Say Goodbye (which I was so pumped to hear) because people lit off fireworks around me and everyone screamed for a good 5 minutes.

I'm never doing alpine lawn again But I'm glad I experienced it I guess!

I can't stand American Idol but I watched some of his youtube vids after hearing about him and last night I noticed it was on and caught him doing superstition. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because he is so talented but he really needs to be himself. He is gonna end up costing himself huge by not being himself.

However there is always room for 1 more DMB cover band, he could do that.

Rozz, don't let these people push you away from the Alpine lawn. It's not that bad! Yes, it is steeper than most lawn, but no it is not a ski slope The ski resort is like a mile away from the venue. They are not the same hills . Plus there are some flatter areas that you can get a spot on if you get in there early enough

There will be D-bags in the lawn, no doubt. But there will be D-bags in every lawn. IMO, it's worth it to see a show at Alpine. That place is amazing

    Re: **Deer Creek 2012**

IMO sound on the Alpine lawn is better than most. It is so large, on the center and stage left sections of the lawn, there are secondary speakers that project sound further back than just the speakers positioned on the back of the pavilion. If you go in at 5:30 and run to get to the front, you will be inundated with drunken idiots the entire night. As BTP said, play it cool and hang back. Pick a spot in the corner on the side of the big hill and take it in. Will there be loud people sometimes? yes...will there be the occasional drunken fool? yes But can anyone here point me in the direction of the quiet sober majority at a DMB show? Didn't think so. Some will say that is the pav, but I have sat in the pav for many many shows and have been around just as many drunken fools as I have in the lawn...but in the lawn, YOU CAN MOVE.
Honestly, for my 5th-40th or so shows, i was die hard pav only (for many of the percieved reasons listed above) but then, i sat lawn with my buddies here and there and realized it wasnt as bad as i remembered. Now, I'll buy pav tickets so my wife has a seat, but I just head to the lawn where my friends are and party down out there.
If your options are 1. Go to Alpine, but sit in the lawn or 2. Don't go to Alpine, IMHO, you would be a complete fool for choosing option 2

It is such a hassle to get up that hill after the show to exit.

And to walk the 3 miles uphill from the parking lot

    Yo Teh Creekz!

Rozz, go to Alpine. You'll love it regardless of where you're at. We can all talk about lawn horror stories after the fact, but for the most part I'm sure we all loved the shows and upon the band finishing the encore, that's what we were discussing at the time.

And once you enter and see the venue, before anyone is even playing on stage, you're gonna be glad you made the trip. The place is a real thing of beauty to just see for the first time.

Looking down at the stage from the very top of the hill for the first time is amazing. I love that one panoramic photo of Alpine that shows the entire crowd. I need to look for that.

I'm letting my students watch the IU game while they do their assignments! I think its helping motivate them!

Plus there are some flatter areas that you can get a spot on if you get in there early enough

There will be D-bags in the lawn, no doubt. But there will be D-bags in every lawn. IMO, it's worth it to see a show at Alpine. That place is amazing
Alpine is indeed beautiful. But there are indeed D-bags, as well as A-Bags, and F-bags in the lawn. Just be prepared for all kinds of bags, man.
