Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. No reason to think it'd be anywhere other than the Greek Theatre.

First week day shows in the Bay Area in over 15+ years. But seeing as there is not much other love for the west coast this year, guess you just have take what you get.

Mon/Tue is a little wierd, but very happy to be back at the Greek. Packed GA crowd is way better than half full at Shoreline with the first 20 rows either empty or disinterested season tix.

Would love to make the trip back to Berkeley. That was one of my favorite DMB experiences, definitely rivaled some of the Gorge weekends I've attended. Absolutely loved that venue.

Remember the 6.0 Napa quake?

Just a heads up for anyone who's never been to the Greek. There is no real tailgating scene everyone hangs out in front of the venue on the sidewalk. Bring a disposable ice chest, you can have your pre-party, party in front and dump your trash on the way in ( leave only your footprints). Get there early if you want a good seat ( there's really not a bad seat). The Greek is an all GA venue and it fills up quick.

I want to make my first trip there but was wondering what the difference in seats would be for standard tickets vs. premium package tickets since all seating is General Admission? In this case, would the premium package just get the cool "gear" and nothing else special?

Thinking about making the Berkeley>Gorge run happen. Seems like an excellent way to end the summer and my aunt lives two blocks away. Can see my cousins in the process.

I believe that was the case for last Berkeley run. People were bummed because it's a lot of money and you don't get guaranteed a spot. Maybe they'll have an early entry, but I want to believe that even that was all WH, so still had to get there super early.

As mentioned above, the view is great from everywhere, but the upper part of the lawn is steep and not very comfortable at all. You do have a view of the Bay Bridge from up there though!

The last time he was at the Greek my tickets were not will called. They were mailed to me ahead of time.

OAK is closer in general. SFO probably has more flight options though but you would need to cross the bay bridge which can be a traffic issue OR you can take bart rather easily.

In my opinion, the concrete seats aren't very comfortable either. Maybe it's because I'm getting old I like to lean back in a seat or sit on something that's not concrete. I'll be skipping these shows and I'm not feeling bad about it.

I've seen a couple of hotel reviews and the words homeless people and mentally ill come up a little too often.

GA at the Greek is awesome. The venue is tiered so even if you're back a bit you have awesome sight lines. N2 and N3 last time we were center stage, about four tiers up from the floor. It is a super intimate venue and I wish it weren't so close to the Gorge this year so I could do both again.

And unfortunately, being an '00 member no longer guarantees you better seats.

Very easy! The security is extremely lax at the Greek. Remember you're in the bay area of California, very herb friendly.

There are plenty of CHEAP (a little ghetto) hotels on University Ave. Everything is within walking distance or a short cab ride.

So Pumped for my first trip to Berkeley for a DMB show. There is a good size group of us (10 coming from all over). Any suggestions for a first timer from veterans? Places to stay, meet up spot for ants pre-funk, seating, concessions in the venue.

Im really tempted to take a flight out to the west coast for this show, never been to california..Over the last 3-4 years all my DMB friends from college have slowly flaked. Anyone wanna give me some advise on the area the greek is in? How fars the airport from the theater? Will be my first show flying solo

Greek is an amazing and unique venue. Easy to get a good spot up front, or my favorite which is just up the first step at the back of the "pit", so you are center but raised above everyone. Up on the lawn you have great views of Berkeley (UC Berkeley campus) and the bay, until sundown.

The area is great - it's the UC campus, so loads of good bars and restaurants. It's really pretty, worth walking around if you haven't been.

Depending on what else you're doing in town, the closest airport would be Oakland. But if you are going to stay in SF and take BART to the theater, then SFO is closer. Either one works.

With a group, definitely check AirBnb. We went as a group of 5, and booked a house for less than a hotel would've been. Walking distance to the venue, full kitchen, was amazing.

Thinking back makes me want to go again so bad. This venue should be a must visit for everyone.

The shows in 2010 and 2014 were some of our best ever!
Great weather and great crowds every night.
