Talking Cynthia Woods Pavilion 5/18/2012

Greetings, Ants!
Who just got back from the show?? Cynthia Woods Pav? DMB opening show of the summer tour 2012?? Anyone? If so, how hard did you boogy!? Dave jammed so hard and the crowd was rockin'! Loved seeing all the fans groovin'! Hardly saw anyone sitting down! Dave, Tinsley, Stefan, Carter, and numerous others played their hearts out! I am just so in love with how much they love what they do! They made the entire venue become one. EMBRACE EACHOTHER! Who else brought their boogy shoes to Woodlands, Texas tonight?!

Bye Bye, Butterfly!

I went to the show as well....

The setlist was loaded with some of my favorites so of course I had a good time. I got You Never Know which is one of my absolute favorites. Grace is Gone, #41 (which I'll take at any and all shows that I go to), and Beach Ball..

The only minuses for me in the setlist were Eh Hee and You and Me. Not really a big fan of either song but they did a pretty nice job on both.

I have to say out of the new songs that I liked Mercy a bit better. I liked the outro with Dave on the keys. I'm happy to "indulge" them anytime. I actually like this live version of Gaucho better than the one that they sent to us for download. I do think that it has a chance to be a killer jam for Jeff Coffin sort of like how LIHOG was off of Big Whiskey.

Nice show for a tour opener. I don't know about the lasers in the lighting. The lights did some moving around during songs and I found it a bit distracting but...it will grow on me I suppose.

All in all I had a great time and this is my home show so the drive home was easy...

Thanks to Dave and company for a wonderful evening.
