okay yea, I knew there was something bothering me about that trailer, how it seemed 'off' but I couldn't directly put my finger on it. and that's it right there, it ultimately doesn't really tell you anything
(though, as you say, not that I can blame them for)

I'm hoping they go full "next week on mad men" this season and just show shots of random snow and battlefields as the previews for every episode

Actually one thing seems indicated by that trailer, though you don't see his face, it's heavily implied that Jorah's grayscale problem has gotten far worse.

but it made me wonder -- can someone pull a Rick/Herschel move on him to save his life? much like how Rick just up and chopped off most of Herschel's leg after getting bit to save the zombie virus from spreading to his whole body and making him turn, can another person like cut off Jorah's arm up at the shoulder? it would suck to only have one arm, but that's better than grayscale over your whole body.

^^ yes, cause that room we see Dany and Tyrion standing in, where they've got that giant map/table sitting before them with all the little mock army pieces, that's the same place in which we first met Stannis and Davos in back in... s2 or 3, it was?

btw, honestly not sure if this was meant to be a joke or not (I'm leaning toward not) but in a recently Entertainment Weekly issue when they do a little bit of coverage of how there's 4 different potential spinoff ideas that HBO is pondering developing related to GoT, the line they use is Jamie Lannister is "the most likely to pull a 'Joey'". which, then I'm also not quite sure they're implying that it'd have too much of a chance on not being especially good... ?

maybe they used the line because he's the only main character to have gotten a spin-off. While the other GoT spinoffs might be prequels...just a thought.

It's only fully just hit me -- Little Finger is sort of like the Benjamin Linus of the Game of Thrones world (I guess I should add he's from Lost, for the few of you maybe haven't seen it). That he's completely obsessed with gaining all of this power, even sitting on the iron throne himself but the irony being who's "in charge" will be pretty much meaningless when considered in the grand scheme of what the larger problem is very soon going to be on the show.

(and this is more so in comparison to Ben's personal journey during much of season 6 of Lost)

TV Guide article says that the last two episodes of the season will be 70 minutes and 80 minutes respectively. And going by average episode length times of the series, this season - time wise - will be more like 8 episodes.

    So there's that.

when you add up the total time of the whole season, actually no, it's not. There definitely will be single episodes that are longer than they've ever done before, BY FAR (including as said a 70 and 80 minute 7th and 8th ep), but the overall time of all 8 still falls a bit short of the longest 10ep season.

last couple weeks I've been rewatching a lot, though admittedly a bit out of order. I'd forgotten that back in season 2, there's a scene between Cersei and Tyrion where, it's still not explicitly stated, but with what she's saying Cersei's making it quite obvious she's acknowledging to him that her and Jamie have been lovers. I mean there's a beat at the very end where it's like she regrets she just showed so much vulnerability, but it's out there.

i was curious about that too...if a typical episode is 53 minutes, that means a 10 episode season is 530 minutes

if this season is 8 eps, thats 424 mins. each episode would have to be about 14 minutes longer to surpass the amount of time in a normal season.

well and actually I'd forgotten, the way I was talking about it in the previous posts I was one number off, it's only 7 episodes this. 7 this year and 6 for season 8 (they'd said last year they had just about 13 "hours" of story left to tell). but this is the minute breakdown of the whole season

    http://collider.com/game-of-thrones-...odes-runtimes/

Also btw, it's not at all set in stone, but they've talked about the possibility that the premiere of season 8 will have to be set even later on, juuuuust maybe not even til the beginning of 2019. So we may go 2018 with no Thrones at all.

no kidding, less than a month away now.

and ya know there's on particular detail that I realize, far as I can tell it hasn't really been brought up or addressed directly in the show for a LONG time, but surely will become a MAJOR element within these last two seasons: Dany can't have any children!! like even if a lot of people would happily get behind the notion of her coming in and reclaiming the throne for her family name, how enthusiastic will they still be when they learn she can no longer further the blood line? It's a thing like I'd totally forgotten about, but it's out there in the close future of the series like a ticking time bomb.

also I'm predicting that Cersei dies by the end of THIS season. I just got to thinking and like what would be a surprise they could lay on the audience, well that a thing like that wouldn't linger into the last season before it was resolved.
