Re: Rank the songs from Before These Crowded Streets
Crush- this is studio perfection, reminiscent of something that could have come from aja
The stone- pretty much same as above. It darker and introspective, could be one of their best songs. Agree with someone above, crowd sing along ruins it live
Dreaming tree-dark, moody and beautiful
Spoon- the saxophone and arrangements make it top tier so does the lyrical inquisition
Don't drink the water-its dark and wonderful. I've used this song on many occasions to get me through tough times, granted I shouldn't have. As much as it could be about America it pertains to most of south of texas
Halloween-raw emotion blowing up, not for everyone but great
Pig- one of their best songs, shame it was ignored for as long as it was
Rapunzel- fun song, and could always help with the pussy eating over/under if you bet at shows
Stay-fun summer song, kind of out of place here
Last stop-high energy with middle eastern vibe. Caught it a handful times live, would take Minarets over it. The musical breakdown is top notch. If they are going to play it live and not go all the way there's no point
