I had decent tickets my first pull, but then got greedy and for 10 straight minutes it was saying sold out. Luckily I got some balcony tickets, really wishing I wouldn't have given up those first tickets

Went much faster than I expected.

Can't believe how many tickets went in the presale. All of the orchestra pit and front orchestra for the Boston show. I was at the box office at 9:55, got the last row of the rear orchestra for $45.

Was at the show last night in Omaha, and the show was simply amazing. The Magik*Magik Orchestra added so much. If you have a chance to see them on this tour do yourself a favor and go. You will not regret it.

I was surprised they only played 3 songs from Codes and Keys.

Wanting to see them here in Austin in May at the new ACL Moody theater, but the secondary market price has to come down quite a bit.

I thought it was, granted I had never seen them before and my expectations were pretty neutral. I was blown away, I could not imagine seeing them another way than how they played last night. The string section really added a lot IMO.

They played an extremely balanced set, a few songs I think the most songs from a single CD was 4 from Transatlanticism (if I remember correctly). They played a lot of older tunes as well.

It was very attentive crowd, people weren't talking in during songs, the band was very appreciative of the fact that everyone was sitting and paying attention to the music.

Ugh, I just watched a few videos of their shows with the orchestra and now I'm really regretting not buying tickets. There are single tickets available and I'm considering just biting the bullet and going by myself.

You will not be disappointed, I'm wishing I could see another show this tour. I will for sure be watching the Chicago webcast

Show was awesome. Saw someone with a LVMYDMB license plate as I was passing through Grand Rapids too. Tried to pull up beside them blaring Bartender but it was not meant to be.

Have you seen them before? Wondering how these shows with the orchestra compare to their previous tours?

Saw them in... 08 i think? Didn't know a lot of Death Cab when I went the first time but enjoyed myself well enough. This was very different though. Small venue, more conversational, and the orchestra really added a lot. Just a very different feel from when I went the first time.

Yo everybody, fucking go see a show this tour. They sound incredible. They played some of their best songs. But the way they sound with that orchestra... Oh man. They write beautiful songs, that were just taken to another level. The crescendo in the second half of Transatlanticism was one of the most moving pieces of music I've ever heard. The show really didn't slow down at all, and DCFC were still clearly having fun.
Not great pictures, but just to give an idea
DCFC on the left, orchestra on the right
Chris Walla and the conductor behind him
My 4th show, probably the best one yet. They sounded so good.

Bolded is truth, I am just pissed that they didn't webcast the encore of last week's Chicago show just for Transatlanticism, Oh well I was able to get a decent rip of the main set.

Speaking of which, has anyone been following the setlists? Are the setlists pretty much the same every show? Now that I think about it, seems likely considering the orchestra probably didn't learn that many extra songs.

Yes, they have all almost been identical to each other, there have been a few slots in the set that they have rotating through a few songs.

Yes, exactly for the reason you said. Ben seemed pretty nervous about trying Underneath the Sycamore at my show-- they are trying new stuff, just not too much. Same opening runs, same closing runs, pretty much same encores, a few songs different here and there. I'd say don't look at the set if you haven't already.
DMB did the same thing when they played with the RSO.

I at least want a full show CD, but really would love a DVD/Blu.

If anyone wants the main set audio for 4/17 let me know and I will upload it somewhere. Quality is pretty good.
