I think we can do it! Looking into hotels by O'Hare and then taking the L to Wrigley and then to Northerly Island. It can be done, although I have zero experience with Chicago public transportation...

If we don't like the public trans the 1st day, we'll just drive to the venue the 2nd day.

How are you planning to get around? We are trying to avoid driving, but public transportation all weekend seems a bit daunting.

Its really not too bad. And Uber is pretty affordable worst case. THe El can get you pretty close to venue. Especially since it's more or less just South of Wrigley. Plus the walk along the lakefront is really pleasant so you might want to walk through Grant Park/Museum Campus

Appreciate the tips! Good to know Uber is affordable there, too. We use it often in Indy but didn't know if it would be pricey in Chicago.

I hope so too! Would love a solid 80 degrees and overcast. Not too hot and want to avoid the rain!

There is nothing more magical than Wrigley. Seeing DMB there in 2010 was one of the highlights of my life.

Red line from our hotel downtown to/from the game. We may just walk down to the concert. That's what I did in 2014

Does anyone know if the 300 level, specifically, sections 306-309 are going to be "grandstands" like the other 300 levels? In 2014, that was not the case, 306-309 were just floor seats with no elevation. I rode my bike past there over the weekend, they have not started setting up for this season so until they do, its still up in the air.

I'm not sure on that. My guess would be that it'll be consistent with 2014 set up

For sure they would block the view, but they are being advertised as grandstand seats, that is why I am confused.

Grandstands are anything in level 300 but may not actually be grandstands

The 300 level seats are usually off to the side a little. In fact Ive never seen them any other way since they renovated the venue.

Id expect it to look just like it did in 2014

Was there last summer and the actual grandstands were off to the side. I would assume they would be the same so they wouldn't block the "view" from the lawn

Chicagoan here: If you guys are planning on driving from wrigley to northerly its a 22 minute drive without traffic!! and Ubers surge like crazy when youre in wrigleyville especially after/before a cubs game. and walking from wrigley to northerly is an 8 mile walk. just things to keep in mind! Good news is the cubs play the rockies that weekend so the game definitely won't be in high demand. or at least i would assume.
