Not that I like to compare beers, because they are all brewed differently, but, the first sip tasted close to Heineken.

That's just me. I enjoyed it.

i usually pass on their stuff. It's good, but not to the point where I would buy some. Unless it's Choklat or Mokah. Still bummed they discontinued Mokah and Jahva. And for me they are king of Pumpkin beers. Pumking wins.

Not a lager fan either, but will make a few exceptions for certain ones I've liked in the past like Sam's Boston, GL Elliot Ness and BP Toasted Lager.

Southern Tier's APA, Choklat and Pumking really stand out for me.

Also a random question, but anyone have any tips on a grocery store with craft beer in San Juan? Ill be in Puerto Rico for a week in August, and would love to be able to pick up something that isnt poor Mexican beers or BMC.

I have a friend who travels to San Juan occasionally. He just said he can't recall seeing craft beer in stores but he said he hasn't really looked. He says he goes to Old Harbor Brewery or La Taberna (a bar?) for beers. He's a beer guy but not a super beer nerd for what it's worth.

that was our departure point for our honeymoon a couple years ago. i didnt see anything special down there. you'll likely see bud, miller, coors, and regional beers which taste the same. the walgreens by the cruise ship ports has alcohol and there are a couple small grocery stores a few blocks away by the old town square. i just bought wine bottles to bring on the ship.

Well, I didn't even attempt going to Cascade due to traffic. The good news is I anticipated that, so that morning I checked out a nice little bottle shop in Beaverton called Uptown Market.

They didn't have any Cascade sours like I wanted but I did pick up some cool regional IPAs:

    http://s24.postimg.org/fv2iik78l/IMAG0328.jpg

Barrel 10: ISA (India Session Ale)
Breakside/Gigantic Collab: Portland Beer Week India Wild Ale w/Brett
    Breakside: IPA
    GoodLife: Descender IPA

Also stopped by Laurelwood Brewpub in Portland Airport (love that place) and snagged a pint glass - has their logo laser etched in the bottom, pretty sweet.

Tonight I am gonna have to vote the best is whatever our pitcher brings in a cooler for after the game - we have a system, he who makes the last out brings the beer for the team.

Very nice, I love Breakside. They just started bottling. I haven't had the opportunity to try that Portland Beer Week beer yet though. That descender ipa is also really good.

Cool, looking forward to trying some of them tonight. I think I'll likely cellar that Beer Week beer for a year or so and let the Brett work its funk.

Aaron, do you have any idea if Elysian is brewing Split Shot ever again? I know it was originally brewed for Seattle Beer week last year but I thought it was a one-time brew. I thought it was one of their better beers.

I agree that it was a good beer, but I haven't heard about them making it again. I will say, their latest ipa, Space Dust, was pretty good. I don't drink them much, but they occasionally make some really good beers. Plus, they host pumpkinfest every year, and that's a fun festival.

I thought Space Dust and Red Valhalla were both solid, as was Idiot Sauvin when fresh.

I think they do a good job with the pumpkin beers I've had: Dark O' The Moon and The Great Pumpkin. I bet that festival is a good time

They usually have about 60 pumpkin beers on tap, usually 10 or so that they make. Plus, they get places like Russian River and Cascade to do pumpkin beers for them, so it's pretty great.

For my 200th different beer on Untappd, I'm drinking the Fremont Universale Ale I got in the MBB. Very clean APA, a bit light but has a nice hoppy taste. This is great for a hot day or when eating. Another great choice, Aaron Cheers!
