Anyone else think that since this is the only domestic show to sell out thus far; DMB (Dave in particular) will be especially pumped to give a kick ass show, i.e, rare setlist, more enthusiasm, better jam sessions, etc.?
I just want a #41 rendition like the one where Joe Lawler sat in with them (imo probably the best #41) or a rendition like the best Two Step ever.
My wife questioned my judgement when I was asking her about our pre-game plans before the concert - her words "the concert is three months away. Why are you planning that stuff now?" Me: "It's never a bad idea to be prepared well in advance. Ha!"

Front-end of a back-to-back, Tuesday night, small venue, new venue, Arkansas. Nothing there says standout show to me. I think the band will be into it because it will be packed and hopefully the crowd will be rocking, but I'm not holding my breath for an outstanding setlist.

I'm really excited about this show too! Although selling out a 7K capacity venue isn't really a big deal. They just booked a really small venue for some reason. (WalMart kick-back..?) You never know though... We got a Gregg Allman collaboration when they were in LR last time, which was awesome! And the set from '03 at Alltel was fantastic. I'm excited to see what they do with 2sets this year!

03' Little Rock was an amazing show! Although Boyd was out of tune in some spots.

I think this atmosphere is going to be amazing, being as its the first time here. The crowd is going to be full and jacked up.

I'm doing Arkansas and then Southaven the next day so I hope the band doesn't do a ton of repeats and realizes people are going to both shows.

Thought about doing the same but I don't think my body can handle that quick of a turn around. Makes my appreciation for DMB, and all touring bands for that matter, even bigger.

I was considering doing all of TX, AR, & MS.

Then I spent a little time on dmbalmanac checking stats for the first 5 shows of every tour since 2008. Clearly if you are going to back to back one night stands you are guaranteed several repeats. The only way to avoid it is spreading shows out over the coarse of the summer as opposed to seeing 4 one nighters in 6 days. I prefer to skip some of my "local" stops if it means traveling farther will provide me with more diverse sets.

As of now I am going to Austin and still deciding on one other May show, most likely Arkansas.

They could always add Bud Walton Arena for a winter stop too!

There is a really fast way to browse set variety on dmbalmanac by clicking on the third show of a summer tour and viewing the 'Last' column for TD's, or it's opposite, the number 1 & 2.
Then click the next show button a few times to watch the pattern, and in the past 5 tours there has been a fairly consistent trend when it comes to song repeats. There are slight differences depending on placement of one night stands or multiple night runs, but most of the numbers average out similar from tour to tour.
Best case scenario is we get 3 or 4 new songs that we actually want to hear every night.

Do they use Bud Walton for concerts (other than WalMart meeting)?? It's a waste to not. The last larger concert I remember going to indoors around here was John Mayer but it was in Barnhill.

    Venue is only 7k?

According to the venue official site: "The new venue opened in June 2014 and accommodates 9,500+ people"

    DMBalmanac says 10,000.

Does anyone know the actual capacity?

Tim McGraw came here and it was bulging in capacity at 10,000+.

That being said, I think the management knows 10k+ at this venue is not fun. Especially after the numerous complaints they received after the McGraw show.

The only way to make more money is pack the lawn, which I still expect. There should be more tickets become available in the next few weeks. Should be close to that mark again.

That definitively seems more likely after looking at pictures online
especially comparing it to other small venues like Tahoe.

    Here is their response:

"Thank you for your inquiry. The capacity of the entire venue is 9500+.
The actual fire code capacity is just over 10,000. With that many people, the venue is extremely full, but it is always kept well within fire code. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me again."

Okay you guys are probably tired of hearing it but my kit will be featured in Modern Drummer Magazine in May for Kit of the month. This is a huge honor for me. I told Henry about it and hopefully this may get me to meet CB. Everything is lined up this time!

Will the venue even let me take it in to get a signature or will I be screwed?
