Where have you been?

Still one of the best performances of this song.

I still don't think it's the best Shotgun, and I was there.

but yes, I wish that song was played twice a night

    Re: Where have you been?

Might be a best performance but still not that good of a song imo
Would take it over covers though along with can't stop and a few others

Now idea of you, that's one I miss

I would like to hear a cleaner copy before I said it was better or worse than Alpine 2007. I'd like this version to make a Warehouse disc so I can take the Pepsi Challenge with the Alpine. It seems great on the recording, but you can't *really* tell if it's best ever. It checks all of the boxes for what I would want in a released version, longer, passionate, horn outro...

Heaven forbid someone should say they would have preferred Shotgun over Squirm on Ants. Such a great song. Once I got beyond the upsetting nature of the lyrics, I fell in love with it. Surprised it's not called for more often.

Not sure if it's close to the best, but I witnessed 7-7-12 which was awesome.

I think it's a song people have fallen into their rhythm with. We're not going to chant Last Stop, one or even two years after a "Last Stop Tour." We'll wait 4 or 5 because that's the schedule for that song. No one other than our group is going to call for it, and we know well enough when it's time, and we tell them. This is year 5 of the Last Stop cycle. It's time. But I didn't think so in 2013.

    Re: Where have you been?

Easily the best version of this song, still to this day. Would love for them to put it on a Warehouse disc. Dave's vocals/lyrics slay, the horns in the background, Boyd doing the violin part that for some reason got abandoned, plus it has the intro and the reprise outro. They really knocked the arrangement out of the park on this performance and it was never as good after.

I did see the one time they played it during 2008 at SPAC and that was quite a good performance (especially on Dave's end, he really turns it on for tha tone), but then I saw it at Bethel Woods in 09 and it wasn't anywhere close.

Its up there. I prefer the gorge 06 and 10/2/07 over this version though

Shotgun is probably one of the top 3 best songs Dave gave birth to since busted stuff... I prefer the SPAC '08 version on youtube but yea... you are right.

How is this song, and all of the other '04 & '06 songs forgotten, and yet some of the turds from BWGGK and AFTW get played night after night? I know asking this is beating a dead horse, but damn!

Don't worry, in time they'll disappear. And once they do, they'll get a new found appreciation. Just like fans are into Everyday Songs now. And Stand Up songs now.

They all fade away at some point. Some never return.

you say things like this, but they arent based in reality. No one was happy smooth rider came back. I know maybe one person who was happy with steady as we go coming back.

The only people who are even remotely happy half the time are noobz who werent around when they were originally played. And thent hey are only happy to check it off the list. That isnt a clamoring for the songs
