But Serial at least had a mystery. This Richard Simmons one felt like a manufactured mystery.

Because Serial made the case known to the public and there was movement on the case after the podcast.
With the Simmons podcast there was a genuine concern from everyone that knew him.

I really liked S-Town. Again, were people expecting to hear that a treasure trove of gold was found under the maze and Tyler is a rich man?
Last few episodes werent as edge of your seat as the first few episodes, but it still kept me wondering- we got to see more details of John B's life, the two sides to every story, etc etc.
